Sean Stone, the son of Oscar-winning film director Oliver Stone, reportedly converted to Islam on Tuesday. The younger Stone, 27, was visiting Iran, where he is working on a documentary.
The conversion ceremony, during which Fars news agency claims he became a Shiite Muslim, apparently took place in the Iranian city of Isfahan. During the ceremony, Stone chose “Ali” to be his Muslim first name.
The Tehran Times reports:
He went to the office of Shia cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Nasseri Dowlatabadi in the city of Isfahan on Tuesday and recited shahada, the Persian service of the Fars News Agency reported.
one way only, you are quite correct. All three religions are exclusive religions. You can accept one without rejecting the other two. I would think that most Christians and Jews don't want an interlinked Church/State.
Faith Facts wrote: slam is more than a religion; it is an ideology with a clear sociopolitical agenda. There is no such thing as separation of church and state in orthodox Islam. Western notions of democracy and freedom are in opposition to orthodox Islam. Mankind must be controlled by Islamic law in total, and not be allowed to stray from the authority of Allah. Islam is thus a totalitarian utopian worldview. The fact that freedom of religion does not exist in Muslim countries is evidence supporting the view that Islam wants nothing short of domination through political control.
"“The conversion to Islam is not abandoning Christianity or Judaism, which I was born with,” he told AFP via phone. “It means I have accepted Mohammad and other prophets.”"
Obviously he does not understand Christianity the Bible or Judaism.
John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Matt 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
