Religious Liberty Issue Not Settled by Revised Contraceptive Mandate
President Obama sought to calm a storm of criticism over his administration’s contraceptive mandate Friday, but few religious leaders were soothed.
‚ÄúReligious liberty will be protected,‚ÄĚ the president insisted at the White House Friday, as he announced changes to his administration‚Äôs contraceptive mandate, with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius standing behind him.
In the video clip I saw, Mr. Obama yielded the power of his 'Christian' mind, to the 'experts' in the medical profession. It appears God may have providentially given them the power of the civil sword anyway, since those who have the power to use it, don't seem to know what to use it for. He seemed to be saying in essence, the medical profession will care for your bodies not the government, but government will command the the medical establishment. The insurance companies will provide for your financial security, and the Church of Rome will usefully provide for your souls. The Government of Rome will provide for your money. You will have more to spend now since 90% of women and their significant others don't want children anyway.
Personally, I think the nation is doomed until it wants to know and acknowledge God in Christ as Creator and Redeemer. Only then, will the 'people' care to know who is supposed to do what. Only then will they recognize a true leader under God, in Christ according to the Scripture.
That would be the current democratic plan for universal health care plan as seen everywhere it is practiced. People wait long months for help with their disease or condition (now there is real compassion) and life saving drugs for terminal diseases are withheld or not funded. , "The Republican health care plan is this: 'Don't get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly.'" the Catholic Bishop of Lincoln, Nebraska, points out that they use self-insurance at all the Catholic facilities, as such they would still be in an impossible position as far as contraceptives are concerned. Since 95% of Roman Catholic women in the childbearing years use some form of contraception, many may act differently in the voting booth than they do in the Cathedral?
Again, if the Republicans, a.k.a., The Reactionaries were not so anxious to be in the employ of insurance companies they could have helped avoid such things as insurance-paid contraception techniques, if they cooperated on the universal healthcare that they advocated when they held the high ground, Republican Origins of Democratic Health Care Provision. They now just appear as hirelings for the healthcare industry. Also completely lacking in Christian compassion since now their health care plan is, "The Republican health care plan is this: 'Don't get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly.'" The Contraceptive Mentality, Obamacare and the Church
"The Contraceptive mentality is fundamentally at odds with the first command given by God to the family‚ÄĒto be fruitful and multiply. It is an attempt by man to pervert the normal function of the body and its purpose as designed by God. It is an effort to change God‚Äôs design by separating life from love, and responsibility from pleasure. The failure of Christians to hold to the biblical and historic position of the Church on this issue has ushered us into a brave new word where many of the people of God employ tools against their own body and potential progeny‚ÄĒtools with abortifacient potential. It has opened the door for the present horror story of a United States President who would mandate that employers provide their employees with these tools that pervert the body and have the potential to kill newly conceived children."
"[H]usband and wife become in a way one heart and one soul ... marriage is a love that is total ... [M]arriage must of necessity retain its intrinsic relationship to the procreation of life ... [or else] who will prevent public authorities from favoring those contraceptive methods which they consider most effective?
"Should they regard this as necessary, they may impose their use on everyone."
-Pope Paul VI, from the encyclical "Humanae Vitae"
All he did was make the bill so far left that it was ridiculous so that when he moved it back to the right a little it seemed ok Obama is a Marxist socialist weasel and we need to vote him out or our country will turn like Greece liberalism, communism and socialism don't work it's already been proven and any one who calls them self a Christian but supports murdering children with abortion is not truley saved and don't know god
