Planned Parenthood takes credit for helping ‘shape’ Obamacare
In a recently released report, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) claimed credit for helping to “shape” the Affordable Care Act signed by President Obama this past March.
“In the latter half of 2009 – in what will surely be remembered as a pivotal achievement – Planned Parenthood worked with its supporters across the nation to help shape and pass the Affordable Care Act,” wrote PPFA President Cecile Richards and PPFA Chair Valerie McCarthy, in a letter published as part of the organization’s 2009-2010 annual report.
The women credit their organization’s “tireless efforts” with the passage of a law that “expands care to millions of women and protects women’s access to essential reproductive care,” and promise their supporters “a promising new era of health care.”...
I don't care where the idea of universal healthcare did come from, something they already have in Puerto Rico. But I will accept the idea even if it did come from Republicans.

James 2 14 What use is it, my brethren, if a man says he has faith, but he has no works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.---NASB
Considering the many thousands of professed believers who surround me, I find it very strange that when I am in need of true medical care those professed believers will not help me. I may get a quick prayer at best with the hope that the heathens will help me out.
Jim---you want universal healthcare for our grandchildren? plant an apple tree. create a seed bank like gates did to protect the non-gmo, so that your grandkids can eat seeds that do not sterilize all the pigs.
seems if you care about people's health.....just saying.
unworthy servant, I would suggest that you read the article, that the Republicans did have a universal health care program. I should say articles, Conservative Origins of Obamacare and Republican Origins of Democratic Health Care Provision. one who can remember back to that time really doesn't need to see any articles. Considering that advanced nations, and even ones that we might doubt fall into that category such as Mexico, have Universal Health care. I really don't care who thought of it in this country, it is just an argumentum ad hominem attacking the source of an idea rather than looking at the idea itself. I support the idea and you gentlemen don't, or most of you, I guess we will find out in November but the general public actually thinks of it.
to brother Jim from Lincoln who inaccurately stated that the Republicans helped shape Obamacare.
"EVERY REPUBLICAN IN CONGRESS VOTED NO (to Obamacare) In the House, Republicans were frozen out from the start. Three Chairmen—Charlie Rangel, Henry Waxman and George Miller—holed up last spring to write the most liberal bill they could get through the House. Republicans were told that unless they embraced the "public option," there was nothing to discuss."
No matter how the liberal LA Times tries to distort facts or how you try and twist the truth , Obamacare is solely the responsibility of the democrats. As for Planned Parenthood, "The House just approved Rep. Mike Pence’s amendment to cut off funding to Planned Parenthood, checking off a hot-button social issue even as it set up a bigger showdown over defunding the health care law.
The vote was 240-185 with 11 Democrats voting for the amendment, and seven Republicans voting against"
Neither party is perfect but the advocates of Obamacare and Planned Parenthood would not call republicans their friends or democrats their enemies Maybe you need your memory j
I thought the Republicans had helped shape it. if Republican voters have memories somewhat longer than the mouse they won't get trapped by the nonsense of not having universal healthcare--Many in GOP who oppose health insurance requirement used to favor it. they used their favorite until the insurance companies and perhaps the AMA got to them?
Planned Parenthood (abortion inc) and the homosexual community seem to have been quite involved with the support of Obama and his administration. Democrats appear to have close ties with the godless and morally frugal fraternity.
