Texas Megachurch Quits Using NIV Over 'Accuracy Concerns'

The leader of a large Baptist church in Texas has announced that his congregation will no longer be using the NIV due to “accuracy concerns.”

Pastor Gregg Matte of Houston’s First Baptist Church recently made the announcement, deciding that the church would use the Holman Christian Standard Bible instead.

“Upon review of the changes made to the NIV, Pastor Gregg believes that it is no longer as accurate in terms of reflecting the meaning of the original biblical texts,” reads the church’s website. ...

Tony Cisneros, the AV because of what it is based on, Erasmus and the Textus Receptus by William W. Combs. The AV is one of the most error-filled Bibles that is still in circulation! Canada says "NO!" to KJV only.

People who are interested AV onlyism should find and get the following books, I don't care where, and look them over. King James Version Debate, King James Only Debate, The Facts on and King James Only Controversy.

And this doesn't cost you a thing! Comparing Bible Translations--Conclusions

Darrell: NO SO-CALLED "BIBLE" CAN TOTALLY BE RELIED ON THAT'S NOT TRANSLATED FROM THE TEXTUS-RECEPTUS &-OR "RECIEVED TEXT" OF THE 66+BOOKS+ OF+THE+HISTORIC+AUTHORIZED+HOLY+BIBLE !

IF THE "MAJORITY" EXISTING HEBREW, ARAMAIC & GREEK OLD-TESTAMENT & NEW-TESTAMENT MANUSCRIPTS AREN'T USED, THAN IT'S NOT A RELIABLE "BIBLE" !

BY " 'MAJORITY' EXISTING" MANUSCRIPTS, I'M REFERRING TO THE "TEXTUS-RECEPTUS"; WHICH, HAS HISTORICALLY BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED & RECIEVED BY THE HISTORIC BIBLICAL-LITERALIST "JUDEO-CHRISTIANS" SINCE ANCIENT "BIBLICAL" TIMES !

I'M REFERRING TO THE HEBREW, ARAMAIC & GREEK MANUSCRIPTS & TEXTS THAT HAVE BEEN USED IN THE TRANSLATION OF OUR MOST ACCURATE & RELIABLE ENGLISH "HOLY BIBLE" FOR THE LAST 400 YRS:

THE KING-JAMES BIBLE !

THE O.T. HEBREW "MASORETIC-TEXT"

&

THE N.T. GREEK "BYZANTINE-TEXT"

ARE THE MOST RELIABLE O.T.&-N.T. "BIBLICALLY" PRESERVED & ACCURATE MANUSCRIPTS THAT ARE IN EXISTANCE IN THE WORLD TODAY--THAT'VE EVER EXISTED !

& NOT, I REPEAT NOT, THE SATANICALLY CORRUPTED, PERVERTED & TWISTED SO-CALLED "N.T." EGYPTIAN-ALEXANDRIAN-ARIAN-ROMANIST MANUSCRIPTS:

**WHO PRODUCED THE NIV, NASB & OTHER "BIBLE"-PERVERSIONS !

I am so glad to see. The NIV has so many distortions, that it can never be totally relied on.

True.

However, facts (e.g., the speed of light), can be determined and understood apart from faith.

For example: The exact day the Universe was created is a fact, though unknowable to us at this time.

Faith provides the truth which the unsaved cannot receive.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

More evasion of the RCC Catechism, particularly ¶283, which is specific enough about creation to be controversial w/o going into the detail you sarcastically posted. I'll get back to you when, or if, you're ready to discuss it rationally, in detail.

I remind you again, it endorses a creation account with a sequence that contradicts Genesis. How do you defend this?

Though, Jesus could’ve taught exactly when the Universe was created by naming the particular day, He didn't.

And He could've taught exactly how the Universe was created by delivering a sermon going into exquisite (and thrilling, no doubt) detail how a googolplex stream of subatomic particles were orchestrated by Him to form the Universe, the Earth, Gravity, Day and Night, all of Life and the Soul.

[It would’ve been great if this sermon were preached so the Church could’ve (eventually) posted His PowerPoint slides at Vatican.va for all interested parties.]

But, alas, He didn't do this either.

Many answers may have to await Heaven.

Ah no wrong again.

Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

If you do not have faith then you will not receive the truth.

2Thes 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Only the elect receive the gift of faith from God, which is the Holy Spirit working in their hearts.
As an idolatrous blasphemer (evidence) in the RCC you will not have received the faith or the truth.
If/when you do then you will ditch the Roman Catholic fallacy, and become a Christian.

Only to doubters. Scientific so called details will be determined when doubters believe what Genesis says.

The wrangle question isn't how, it's when.

Thats not true!

"The RC Church does not have an official position on whether the stars, nebulae, and planets we see today were created at that time or whether they developed over time (for example, in the aftermath of the Big Bang that modern cosmologists discuss). However, the Church would maintain that, if the stars and planets did develop over time, this still ultimately must be attributed to God and his plan," Catholic.com

She has clarified the world's beginnings (e.g., 290 and 291). Exactly how this whole process happened may not be explicitly -- scientifically -- spelled out in the Hebrew and Greek texts. Thus, until this "how" is defined (if ever), She whispers.
Yes, Rome has made it clear – that she believes Darwinian science, and disbelieves Genesis. Just as with Ptolemaic geocentrism, Rome has endorsed science, falsely so-called. She is a whore.

Words, only words.

CCC 841
The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day.

Looks like your (false) church is somekind of creationist indeed, adoring the same god as the followers of a murderous, thieving, demon possessed pedophile.

In ¶283 of the Catechism which you posted. What difference does its omitting the label make? The substance is the same. Like TE advocates, it claims that secular science provides knowledge about the age of the cosmos & development of man. Anyone who believes Genesis would flatly deny this, for reasons I already stated earlier.
Remember some Roman Catholic leaders were once surprised with Galileo, that is, with his scientific discovery. Why would the Church want to yell (again) when the Bible is relatively silent or impossible to deduce logically?

Does the CCC advocate for "theistic evolution" (whatever this is) somewhere?
