Assemblies of God Opens 368 Churches in 2011

The Assemblies of God recorded its second-highest ever number of new church openings in the United States, planting just more than one church a day, with 368 new churches opening in 2011.

AG Statistician Sherri Doty states that the number of new churches planted comes second only to the 400 churches planted in 1982 and ties the number of churches planted in 1991. Currently, the Assemblies of God now has 12,595 churches in the United States—the highest on record.

Do you mean, how any non-Christian organization, "can open a church?" A church is several things, but of course never a building,

John Y., As usual Mike has given you a good response but here is another from a Catholic:
Maria Shriver wrote:
“I start every one of my days praying,” says Maria Shriver, wife of California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. “I go to church every week. I went to Catholic schools my entire life.” But, says Shriver, when it comes to Church teachings, “I pick and choose… I think I’m probably a ‘Cafeteria Catholic.’”
by sister act wrote:
…*Haeresis*--the original Latin term for heresy--means to select in the style of pick-and-chose--and, yes, as we cannot help but notice, just this pick-and-chose style is the style that has been adopted by Maria Shriver and Arnold Scharzenegger as they rummage through the teaching of Holy Church picking and choosing what suits them--and, let us not overlook it, what suits their "reference group" (to borrow a term from the sociologists). It is absolutely impossible,…
excerpts from, "I pick and choose"John, you're a heretic in either Catholic or Protestant eyes.

Hey John! There are a whole bunch of us on SermonAudio who don't participate in the UNScriptural parts of the Mass BECAUSE we refuse to go!

Wouldn't even think of going!
And would never join ourselves with the false Religion of Roman Catholicism either!

If I do not participate in the unscriptural parts to the Mass but only participate in the scriptural parts to the Mass then I am not sinning and I am worshipping Jesus in truth because Jesus recognizes the scriptural parts to the Mass as being true.

Mr Schwarb, do you seriously believe that having a crucifix makea one a Christian?!!

Looks like after a seminary education you decided to commit intellectual suicide by joining the RCC!

Light has its stated oposite, darkneness, light, sweet, sour, truth, eror, etc. So who sits opposite Jesus Christ, and who sits opposite the Church of Jesus Christ? There is only one system that declares itself opposite to Christ, that being Roman Catholicism, a system that states that none can get to heaven unless born in The Mother church, in contrast to the invisible church of Jesus Christ. All the offices that the Pope (singular) takes to himself are those of Jesus Christ, a Pope that declares he cannot die, that only the body dies and himself passes to the next Pope.
If there is no direct opposite to Jesus Christ then it stands that Jesus Christ cannot have come in the flesh, as all things in this world have their opposites.

I read the above and the fact you listen/read John MacArthur and wonder how you ever came to be a piece of dust stuck somewhere under the snake's belly. In other words how a sinner now appears to be a RC under the influence of the Antichrist papal system?
You appear to have abandoned one system for another without having the biblical saving faith that is presented in the former? How come you were in a Reformed Seminary? Did you one time profess the doctrines of grace and abandon such? Apostasy (renounce, abandon, defect)?

Very interesting find, Sherlock!

Proof positive that a cemetary degree in divinity is worthless without the illumination of the Holy Spirit.

There is one Whore, not one whore church. But of all the groupings in The Whore, one stands out head and shoulders above the rest viz. the RCC, and you are in communion in that whore church

But I guess that makes logical sense to you; that you can claim to belong to the Lord and remain part of the preeminent whore church??!

please, I beg all of you, please do not get your doctrine from tv preachers!! especially those who finance perpetual wores and bring smiles to all the CFR members of the world and tell Jewish people that they are so special that the Messiah who died for the sins of the world is not necessary for salvation. For inwardly all need Christ, no matter what their race!!

The true Church is filled with sinners, and sometimes one's sins become so notorious that he scandalizes Christ and His Church. This has been happening since Cain murdered Able.

for not your pope, right on the money, considering the vast palaces that the Roman Catholic bishops build for themselves,
Bishop accountability also. Is A Catholic Christian An Oxymoron? and Is the One True Church Roman Catholic?

Unfortunately, getting back to the article, the Assemblies of God are part of a non-Christian, Charismatic Chaos and believe in ...Experiences a Valid Form of Truth....

And, NYP, there is not only less than 30,000 Protestant sects, but as Martin Luther pointed out, there is only Christianity and all the other religions – including Catholicism – to be Christian one has to believe in, "Only Scripture," "Only Christ," "Only Grace," "Only Faith," and "To God Alone Be Glory".

What is the 'true church' up to now? Just more corruption, greed, immorality, and every other imaginable sin...

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/01/13/priest-with-gambling-habit-faces-prison-in-las-vegas/?test=latestnews - here's a snippet from the news story ' A lawyer planned to ask a federal judge on Friday to reject a call for almost three years of prison time and instead give probation to a Roman Catholic priest who pleaded guilty to siphoning $650,000 over eight years from his northwest Las Vegas parish gift shop, votive candle collection and prayer funds to support his gambling habit.'

Yep, that's the true church alright...the church of the anti-christ

The sins of this abominable denomination are piling up high, the stench is a sickening aroma to a Holy God.

Let me guess. You learned this from the Roman Catholic church.
No, I learned from John Hagee television minister from Texas that the Whore of Babylon is not one specific church but is made up of all churches that have False doctrines. And yes the Catholic Church is among the churches that make up the Whore of Babylon because there are some False doctrines in the Catholic Church. But it is totally unscriptural to state that there is only one church that is the Whore of Babylon.

Not you, pope:Jesus is not opposed to the Crucifix if one does not bow down to and pray to the Crucifix. It is not a violation of the Commandment against graven images just to simply own a Crucifix if one does not bow down to and pray to the Crucifix. If it is unscriptural to own a Crucifix then Luther would not have retained in the Lutheran Church Crucifixes.

Whereas I'm thankful for the Crucifix as a window to pray to our Lord, Muhammadans and Evangelical Protestants hate it.
