Battling Anew Over the Place of Religion in Public Schools
It has been nearly 50 years since the Supreme Court ruled that officially sponsored prayer in public schools violated the separation of church and state.
But in some corners of the country, especially in the rural South, open prayer and Christian symbols have never really disappeared from schools, with what legal advocates call brazen violations of the law coming to light many times each year.
At a school assembly here in South Carolina on Sept. 1, a preacher described how Christ saved him from drugs, telling his rapt audience that “a relationship with Jesus is what you need more than anything else.” A rapper shouted the Lord’s praise to a light show and most of the audience stepped forward to pledge themselves to Christ while a few remained, uncomfortable, in their seats....
"Scientific Naturalism" is the religion taught in our school system. It teaches the "Scientific Dictatorship" worldview. "Schooling" has never been, and cannot be, neutral. For example, take the idea that one has the freedom to choose their own "God" that is taught to all American citizen as a "noble idea", stems from occult Freemasonry. What does the Bible warn about this? Take an intellectually defenseless 6 year old, driven by flesh, without Christian instruction, hearing that from a government authority figure; Is he taught the consequences of his choice? No. Is that neutral? It is indoctrination toward global citizenry in the new world order of which Christianity will not be tolerated. Christians in Americans are indoctrinated to have faith in, and even depend on an extremely anti Christian, very religious school system.
Dewey's "Humanist" seminary (public schooling) was crated to destroy the church through accessing children's minds. Read his "Humanist Manifesto" if you doubt this. Also read Huxley's work; he was the first president of the NEA. The evidence is all out in the open.
Why are Christians not being warned, and supported, by all churches in fleeing this institution?
I have a large collection of evidence on this topic posted at trueteaching.blogspot.com
U.S. Supreme Court Justice, and Harvard's first Dane Prof. of Law, Joseph Story wrote the definitive law School text Commentaries on the Constitution, in use until the 1930's.
His 1834 grade school version "Constitutional Classbook" has this dedication:
“To The Schoolmasters of the United States, Whose Meritorious, Though Ill-Requited Labors Have Conferred Lasting Benefits On Their Country, By Sound Learning, Pure Patriotism,
And Christian Piety This Work Is Respectfully Dedicated,
By Their Grateful Friend and Servant.”
From his 1829 Harvard address:
"VALUE AND IMPORTANCE OF LEGAL STUDIES".
Quote: "One of the beautiful boasts of our municipal jurisprudence is, that Christianity is a part of the common law, from which it seeks the sanction of its rights, and by which it endeavours to regulate its doctrines."
"With us, indeed, who form a part of the Christian community of nations, the law of nature has a higher sanction as it stands supported and illustrated by revelation.
Christianity, while with many minds it acquires authority from its coincidences with the law of nature..."
It is clear, from America's leading jurist, Christianity is key to public education...and the SUCCESSFUL application of Constitutional law.
