ACLU Sues S.C. School for Promoting Christianity

The American Civil Liberties Union is suing a South Carolina school district for unconstitutionally promoting Christianity.

The ACLU filed the suit on behalf of Jonathan Anderson and his son, a student at New Heights Middle School. Both are atheists.

The student in the case claimed he was given the option to attend a New Heights Middle School rally featuring a Christian rapper and a youth evangelist, or face in-school suspension.

Irony is, I wouldn't encourage a *Christian* youth to attend such a rally either. The atheists have nothing to fear here; I think it works to their advantage in the long run.
