If prayer controlled reality, I would quit exercising and just pray myself skinny. The same kind of experiment could be used to prove prayer is ineffective as proved positive thinking is useless.

Somebody else who hits the exercise bicycles.

No, A Different Gospel: An Evaluation of the Teachings of Robert Schuller, PP Thinking was started by Normy Peale, continued by Schuller, and is still be carried on by the likes of Osteen.

Americans like to be upbeat on the material prosperity, so it has greatly appealed to them. For Thunker and Mike,

Philippians 3
18 For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ,
19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things.
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;---NASB

The alternative is "Negative Thinking."

Are you positive that you will always think negatively?

Is sin negative?

Do sinners always think negatively?

Yet there is this-if you don't think you can do something, you likely won't attempt it, thereby turning your doubt into reality. Maybe all those immigrants who thought they might gain a better life for their families by shipping off to America, were just silly to have a positive attitude.
