This Back on December 21, 2009, a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) power-grab, illegally imposed strict, job-killing restrictions on the Internet. The move was no doubt fueled by Tea Party successes, and a growing fear among liberals that conservatives needed to be silenced. That said, the FCC move wasn’t widely reported. In fact, many are unsure as to what the new Net Neutrality rules actually mean. What is certain, however, is that in seizing the Internet Obama has also muzzled the greatest mechanism of growth in our history (under the guise of promoting "freedom" for all), and taken one giant step closer to controlling the unfettered access to news and information that we read.
Without the support of the American people and requiring no votes in Congress, the so-called Net Neutrality rules didn’t require any Congressional action. Now with the federal government seizing control, Grassfire Nation is moving quickly to amass at least 150,000 petitions demanding Congress to reverse the Net Neutrality ruling through legislation.
The Petition States:
As a concerned citizen, I am signing this petition opposing the so-called "Net Neutrality" regulations that were passed by the Federal Communications Commission, and similar legislation in Congress. Net Neutrality imposes government control on the free market of the Internet and is yet another statist power grab.
The FCC does not have the authority to force such sweeping regulations on the free market. I strongly oppose this effort and am urging Congress to fully investigate the FCC and their actions in taking control of the Internet.
Furthermore, I urge Congress to reverse through legislation any effort by the FCC or others to impose so-called "Net Neutrality".
The House as already passed Joint Resolution 6 and the Senate must act before November 20, 2011 to kill these regulations.

Well, Neutral as Scott pointed out, at least in this country, Obama threatens to veto Net neutrality repeal. What was the old RCA emblem Skipper the dog, (I think that was his name, "Listening to his master's voice" Masters in this case for the Republicans the fat cat companies that fund Republicans re-election campaigns. I think the Republicans in this country are the big pushers in this country to have sales taxes applied to Internet sales also, I know my state of Nebraska started to ask us what are Internet sales were and pay taxes on them. So, Republicans are really sniffling small Internet businesses, and of course big ones as well. However, while the taxes bother me, Net Neutrality is even a more important problem.
Internet 2? See, the short article of Wikipedia's Internet2. Uni Nebr. Lincoln, is one of those institutions that participates in I2, and one of my computer meetings was graciously given a presentation about it, but one of the Computer Science staff members of UNL about it. The connection between his UK source of info regarding national deliberation on Net Neutrality and the US FCC is? I know, www. I'm sure someone will correct me, if I'm wrong, but small local internet providers will be replaced and if you can't drive traffic internet sales will be effected. No, Tony, the Internet was designed to facilitate communication between educational/governmental/military institutions. It has gotten so cluttered with the unwashed masses, that these institutions have already have an Internet II so they can avoid the clutter (of all capital letters? )

Network neutrality has nothing to do with elections or politics. The Internet has always treated all packets as equal. ISPs want to be able to create tiered Internet access, where a pay-to-play tier allows full-speed packet transfers and a ghetto handles low-priority transfers. If you can't pay (and only the largest content providers like ESPN and movie companies will be able to afford the pay tier), you'll be shunted off into a ghetto of low-speed, low-priority bandwidth. The end of network neutrality will harm startups, non-profits, and personal web sites. SermonAudio is particularly vulnerable, since they offer real-time streaming and high-bandwidth downloads, but I doubt could ever pay for the high-speed tier. I'm stunned that SermonAudio opposes network neutrality, because they're exactly the sort of web site that benefits from it the most.
It election time again. I have little doubt that SA has valid concerns, and that what Scott says is accurate. This action would have something good to offer, as well as something to gain by offering it. It would appear one either has to choose his losses, or humble themselves under God's mighty hand.
Wait, SermonAudio wants people to sign a petition AGAINST network neutrality? That doesn't make sense. SermonAudio is exactly the kind of site that will be harmed if network neutrality is not upheld. SermonAudio could not possibly afford to pay for first-class Internet service on the two-tier Internet that would result from abandoning the Internet's traditional packet neutrality. SermonAudio's packets would be shunted off onto a second-class, low-speed Internet reserved for those who can't pay the fees to be on the regular Internet. Small, independent sites like SermonAudio would be hurt most without network neutrality.
No one should sign this petition. Network neutrality is the only thing stopping the corporate interests from totally dominating the Internet.
Without network neutrality, there would be two Internets. One would operate at full speed, at the highest priority, for content providers who could pay for it. The other would be a second-class Internet with bandwidth restrictions.
