Obama Spokesman on Jobs: Bible Phrase is 'The Lord Helps Those Who Helps Themselves'
The following includes a portion of the transcript (starting around minute 2 of the YouTube video):
Q Okay, and on the President’s speech today, he referenced the House action yesterday on the “In God We Trust” motto and said, “I trust in God, but God wants to see us help ourselves by putting people back to work.” I mean, isn’t it a bit much to bring God into the jobs debate?
Carney: Well, I believe the phrase from the Bible is, “The Lord helps those who help themselves.” And I think the point the President is making is that we should — we have it within our capacity to do the things to help the American people. And that’s why he’s working so hard to get Congress to take action on the American Jobs Act and the provisions therein. And he — because he believes it’s in the interest of the American people that that action be taken and certainly believes that Americans who are unemployed, who...

Did the Obama representative comment on Job's comments to the President?
Steve Jobs wrote: "You're headed for a one-term presidency," he told Obama at the start of their meeting, insisting that the administration needed to be more business-friendly. As an example, Jobs described the ease with which companies can build factories in China compared to the United States, where "regulations and unnecessary costs" make it difficult for them.
In the Lord's prayer, we pray: Give us this day our daily bread and in so doing we acknowledge that even our best efforts are dependent on God's kind providence. Until, this God defying nation 'In God we Trust' defines their God by the Scriptures of both the Old & New Testaments; and the humbles themselves, prays and seeks His face and acknowledge they as a nation have taken the Name of the God in vain, and submit to His rightful Kingship and the Son at His exalted right hand our Mediator, who from heaven by the power of the Spirit, who is our Advocate with the Father, believes that we are under Him. The earth is His footstool must be made His subjects; God will continue to correct his people and punish his enemies according to the Scripture. Heb.12

Concur and one can identify what priorities are according to spending. This "number one priority" is not greater than the priority of attacking countries that have not attacked us nor is it greater than expanding an internal security apparatus to "protect" the "homeland". The warfare state is clearly more of a priority than this alleged "number one priority".
The Carney non-Bible comment is consistent with the rest of the country. I suspect a higher percentage of Americans think that quote is in the Bible than don't.

It’s a number-one priority for him, getting the economy growing faster and getting the economy creating more jobs."
