On Wednesday, Pastor Ritter spoke with conservative talk-show host Sean Hannity about his face-to-face time with the president. Ritter said that during those few minutes, he shared that he pastors a local church and that his congregation prays for him often. According to the pastor, the president responded that he believes in the power of prayer and was trying to get some jobs to the area.
Hannity asked Ritter if he thought it was "odd" that no Democratic politicians were accompanying Obama on his jaunt into Virginia and North Carolina.
"Well, they call this the Bible Belt, and sometimes I question that [when] we don't act much like it," Ritter replied. "But this president's treated God like a spare tire. And honestly, a lot of government does that."
The North Carolina pastor offered a couple of examples.
