Most pastors feel strongly that Mormons are not Christians, according to a survey by LifeWay Research.
The survey polled 1,000 American Protestant pastors and asked them to respond to the statement: "I personally consider Mormons (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) to be Christians."
Three-quarters (75 percent) disagree with the statement, including 60 percent who strongly disagree and 15 percent who somewhat disagree. Just 11 percent somewhat agree, 6 percent strongly agree and 9 percent do not know....
Mormons claim that the Lord Jesus Christ is a created being and the brother of Satan. The Lord Jesus is the one and only Creator of all things and is One with God The Father and The Holy Spirit according to John 1 thru 3!
"How do Mormons view the Bible? At the lay level in Mormonism there is a deep distrust of it. It is thought to be corrupted by evil men in the Great Apostasy and further corrupted by a two-thousand-year-old telephone game. But there is a larger spectrum of belief: some Mormons try to default to a more trusting attitude of the Bible, while others wait for a more confirmatory emotional epiphany or at least confirmation from outside LDS sources that a given Biblical scripture is correct.
The "as far as it is translated correctly" creedal affirmation (in the eighth article of faith) ends up, at the lay level, functioning as a kind of free pass for rejecting what seems to challenge Mormon beliefs, while more educated Mormons try to insist this isn't the case." The Bible and Mormonism
"The LDS Church has had a history of being very critical regarding the accuracy of the Bible. In fact, it is the only book among the LDS standard works accepted with qualification. Article eight of the LDS Articles of Faith reads, "We believe the Bible as far as it is translated correctly ...""
When you haven't got a sovereign and almighty divine God then "article eight" is the best you can offer.
As a Christian who was a strong Temple Mormon, I know they think their church is the only true church. They are proud of their unbiblical beliefs. They reject Christian beliefs in the Triune God, being saved by faith alone (they will say "saved from what?"),etc. The real question you might ask a Mormon is...do you think a non-Mormon church is Christian or true? The answer is no...no matter how many words they throw at you. They feel sorry for the rest of us.
