Scots rugby star questions need for Sunday matches
A Scottish rugby player who will miss a crucial World Cup match on Sunday because of his Christian faith says he hopes matches will be scheduled on other days in the future.
Euan Murray, who is described as the best in his position by his coach, will not play in Scotlandâs match against Argentina at the World Cup in New Zealand.
Mr Murray said: âI donât see why there have to be games on Sundaysâ, and commented: âI hope things will change in future.â
âI believe the Bible is the word of God, so who am I to ignore something from it?"
Good to hear!!
With the doctrinal decline in the churches the Sabbath has suffered as well as all else Christian and Biblical. The Sabbath (Sunday) was one of the first casualties on this road to hell. I remember reading that an 19th century minister stated that if the Sabbath was lost to the nation then the nation would suffer badly. All too true!!
Jim Lincoln Sunday is the day on which the Christian Sabbath falls.
While First Day, is not the sabbath, (listen to, Legalism is Shadow, Christ is Substance), there is no reason such activities as rugby matches can't be held on Saturday. Christians want to attend church activities on Sunday, and I usually forgo non-church events that occur on Sunday.
