GM's OnStar now spying on your car for profit even after you unsubscribe?
If you're the owner of a fairly new General Motors product, you may want to take a close look at the most recent OnStar terms and conditions. As it turns out, the company has altered the parameters under which it can legally collect GPS data on your vehicle.

Originally, the terms and conditions stated that OnStar could only collect information on your vehicle's location during a theft recovery or in the midst of sending emergency services your way. It's time to get rid of cell phones also! 'Stingray' Phone Tracker Fuels Constitutional Clash. But it seems to me, this problem may have been mentioned earlier, Stalkers Exploit Cellphone GPS . I seen too much of this already, Race Is On to 'Fingerprint' Phones, PCs . As this article points out, OnStar idea isn't original.

My grandparents used to own a Chevrolet dealership. They have been GM faithful for half a century. Last year my grandma got rid of her Buick and bought a Honda Civic for this very reason.
