Atheist Group to Rip Up Bible Passages on Saturday
An Orange County, Calif. atheist group plans to put on a demonstration Saturday afternoon in which they will rip up sections of the Bible that they deem “immoral.”
Bruce Gleason, the founder of the organization, shared several examples of what he perceives to be immoral biblical practices to The Christian Post on Friday.
One Old Testament example he gave was Deuteronomy 22:14-31, which says that a woman who is not found to be a virgin on her wedding night should be stoned to death. From the New Testament, he pointed to 1 Timothy 2:9-10, which tells how women should be dressed. There are a number of other passages the group will be targeting as well....
Tn Wise, did bring up an interesting thought about When Irresponsibility Meets Irrationality, when it comes to burning religious works or destroying them. If Christianity consists only of Protestants and mainline Protestants are excluded because they are post-Christian, then it's significantly smaller than Islam. Perhaps by 50%.
This is clearly an act of cowardiceness. When the pastor in Florida threaten to burn the koran there was outrage because of fear. We had pastor in the news saying how wrong it was to defile someone's religous holy scriptures. To say Christianty is an easy target because there are more of us than any other religion is is illogical argument why not go after the smaller religions like islam? Why because he knows all the muslim world would put a fatwad on his head. This is the same prideful behavior that satan had and sin entered into the world.
What I don't understand is why these atheists are so hung up about Christianity. Do they feel that they have to prove their atheism by going around attacking people who believe in God?
I think maybe the reason for that may be that atheism is not merely a rational belief in science as they claim, but an anti-Christ spirit that seeks to oppose anything to do with God and Jesus Christ.
