Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams set to quit next year
Dr Rowan Williams is understood to have told friends he is ready to quit the highest office in the Church of England to pursue a life in academia.
The news will trigger intense plotting behind the scenes over who should succeed the 61-year-old archbishop, who is not required to retire until he is 70.
Bishops have privately been arguing for Dr Williams to stand down, with the Rt Rev Richard Chartres, the Bishop of London, telling clergy he should give someone else a chance after nearly ten years in the post....
I could never understand why homosexuals have felt so compelled to get the church to give them it's blessings.
If I was guy, I couldn't have cared less for a God and the bible that condemned what I wanted. The bible would have been of no value to me. If I wanted to get "married", I would've lived together and just called it one.
But the gays are driven to get authenticated by the church, want to get married in a church, blessed by a minister, from the bible, and become ministers themselves.
Only from a spiritual point does this attack on God make sense.

How fascinationg that the "church?" who kept the Bible from the people by maintaining it as written in Latin, and who even today reject Sola Scriptura - should worry about the Bible being stolen from their midst.

No, xprot, the only way Christians could make sure there were no Romish or Islamic religions, q.v., Understanding Islam and Roman Catholicism is to subdue Satan, whose is the leader of these two groups. Ooer, the 16th century spirit still lives on in a few diehard Catholics, who grit their teeth at the impotence of the pope to exert his iron grip on the whole world, which he believes he has the right to rule.
The Protestant Reformation put paid to that little devilish scheme, and the papacy has never recovered, despite some austere methods to counter Mr Valiant-For-Truth and his merry men.

Rowan Williams a devout Liberal, is no Christian, but he fits the modern UK of Sodom and Gomorrah's mind set and religion. So he will know nothing of the persecuted Christians life in this spiritually and morally corrupt nation.
But like the Romish Church, Roman Catholic Tradition the problems with the CE is also systemic, "The faith of Anglicans is founded in the scriptures, the traditions of the apostolic church, the apostolic succession – "historic episcopate" and the early Church Fathers...." Anglicanism.
