Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams set to quit next year
Dr Rowan Williams is understood to have told friends he is ready to quit the highest office in the Church of England to pursue a life in academia.

The news will trigger intense plotting behind the scenes over who should succeed the 61-year-old archbishop, who is not required to retire until he is 70.

Bishops have privately been arguing for Dr Williams to stand down, with the Rt Rev Richard Chartres, the Bishop of London, telling clergy he should give someone else a chance after nearly ten years in the post. ...

I could never understand why homosexuals have felt so compelled to get the church to give them it's blessings.

If I was guy, I couldn't have cared less for a God and the bible that condemned what I wanted. The bible would have been of no value to me. If I wanted to get "married", I would've lived together and just called it one.

But the gays are driven to get authenticated by the church, want to get married in a church, blessed by a minister, from the bible, and become ministers themselves.

Only from a spiritual point does this attack on God make sense.

"stolen the Bible"????

How fascinationg that the "church?" who kept the Bible from the people by maintaining it as written in Latin, and who even today reject Sola Scriptura - should worry about the Bible being stolen from their midst.

Come on xprot (Now idolatrous blasphemer and idolater) Lets stick to reality. The Roman Catholic "church?" wouldn't know the Bible from the bus timetable, thats why you reject God's truth for Human (Sinner) Tradition.

The papal antichrist and his evil Magisterium, is never going to allow you to cross his brother Satan and receive the light.

2Cor 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, LEST THE LIGHT OF THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF CHRIST, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."

Just as Rowan Williams and his Liberal NON-Christian C.of E. blinds the gullible in their pews - So does Benedict 16 in the office of the papal antichrist blind the ignorant catholics.
"they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." Matt.15:14

No, xprot, the only way Christians could make sure there were no Romish or Islamic religions, q.v., Understanding Islam and Roman Catholicism is to subdue Satan, whose is the leader of these two groups. But man will never be able to do that, but Christ will. Read the summary to this sermon, if nothing else, The Victory of the Lamb.

Ooer, the 16th century spirit still lives on in a few diehard Catholics, who grit their teeth at the impotence of the pope to exert his iron grip on the whole world, which he believes he has the right to rule.

The Protestant Reformation put paid to that little devilish scheme, and the papacy has never recovered, despite some austere methods to counter Mr Valiant-For-Truth and his merry men.

p.s. They were merry because they were all justified by faith alone in Christ alone, being elect an' all.

Short of that, do you really think that leaving the Roman Catholic Church somehow makes it a non-Church?
It was not just a church, but The Church, long before you were born.
I see you're still swallowing down those strong dilusions God sent your way. But who are we to interfere with God's will or say to Him "What doest thou?"

"His reign has been plagued by bitter rows over gay clergy and women bishops that have left him struggling to prevent the Church from unravelling, particularly following the Roman Catholic Church's offer to accept disillusioned Anglicans."

"Church" What church???
THE Church does not have women bishops, and definitely doesn't have sodomites in any positions. How can they call themselves "church" when they are not Biblical??

As for "disillusioned Anglicans" going over to Rome - Best place for them all heretics should stick together.

Rowan Williams a devout Liberal, is no Christian, but he fits the modern UK of Sodom and Gomorrah's mind set and religion. So he will know nothing of the persecuted Christians life in this spiritually and morally corrupt nation.

Ah, John Y., Rowie is very versatile he suffers from many errors. The Archbishop and Sharia.

But like the Romish Church, Roman Catholic Tradition the problems with the CE is also systemic, "The faith of Anglicans is founded in the scriptures, the traditions of the apostolic church, the apostolic succession – "historic episcopate" and the early Church Fathers...." Anglicanism.

Remember what it is to be Christian? "Only Scripture," "Only Christ," "Only Grace," "Only Faith," and "To God Alone Be Glory"

So he wants to bring to academia that which he brought to the C of E. Hmmm.
Keep an eye out Mike, for a book he's likely to write, entitled "Druidism in England in the 21st Century".
