A longstanding safeguard which prevents blood being donated by men who have ever had sex with other men has been lifted.
Since the 1980s the lifelong safeguard has been in place to prevent the risk of HIV contamination.
But from 7 November men whose last sexual contact with another man was more than 12 months ago will allowed to donate blood in England, Scotland and Wales.
The trouble is in their misguided attempt at being politcally correct they will accept possibly contaminated blood that could wind up infecting a herterosexual. Odds are it won't happen, but if even one person gets the disease it's one life wasted. Not to mention the ramifications it would have for that person's family. It is unlikely that this blood will be contaminated, but the less risk the better.

You got it all wrong, Gerwicke. Haven't you heard? Homosexuals die from awful diseases at a greater rate because there isn't enough heterosexual taxpayer money allocated for research to find cures. That's what is believed, and what we may conclude, after the fluff language is removed.
