New Noah's Ark in Ky. aims to prove truth of Bible
Tucked away in a nondescript office park in northern Kentucky, Noah's followers are rebuilding his ark. The biblical wooden ship built to weather a worldwide flood was 500 feet long and about 80 feet high, according to Answers in Genesis, a Christian ministry devoted to a literal telling of the Old Testament.
This modern ark, to be nestled on a plot of 800 acres of rolling Kentucky farmland, isn't designed to rescue the world's creatures from a coming deluge. It's to tell the world that the Bible's legendary flood story was not a fable, but a part of human history.
"The message here is, God's word is true," said Mike Zovath, project manager of the ark. "There's a lot of doubt: 'Could Noah have built a boat this big, could he have put all the animals on the boat?' Those are questions people all over the country ask."
The ark will be the centerpiece of a proposed $155 million religious theme...

Not this one.The issue is faith or unbelief. The believer accepts the scriptures no matter what the world may say. Unbelievers will never believe no matter what evidence you give, they would not even accept Christs own words why would they believe in a big wooden boat. They mocked Noah and they will mock this.Preaching the word of God is the only way God has given to bring men to faith not theme parks not publicity stunts or novelty or have we lost faith in the scriptures teaching ? 1Cor 1:17-29. Todays church thinks and acts like the world that is why its so weak and ineffectual. Thats why its so worldly and copies what ever the world finds popular we have become followers of modern cultur not Jesus Christ. The Apostles turned the world upside down with preaching. Todays church runs after the world, if it looks like the world, talks like the world, acts like the world. Then its the world.
I thought we saw the ark on Evan Almighty? LoL. Seriously though, I don't have a problem with them building this at all. At least it will get people to talk. Perhaps the Gospel will have a chance to be preached because of the conversation. Our family went to the Creation Museum 3 weeks ago. It was a wonderful time. Ken Ham has a very nice presentation. The Lord is using him in a lot of ways.

And of course Frank and Barry I see your comments and the points you've made.
Hebrews 11:24-34 are worthy verses to look at for what is unseen as is God.

This ark is being built about 5 minutes from my house. We are very excited to see it. They have situated so you will be able to see the ark driving north or south on I-75.
Jim, I understand your thoughts and appreciate it. I don't know the times I have sit through a sermon in church and the preacher trying to convince us the Bible is true and real. To me it's the epitome of 'preaching to the choir.' I still don't really care. I'm glad the ark is being built...
Yes, the Bible is true and needs to not to be proved. But for many seeing is believing. When you have text books that show drawings and diagrams of how evolution is supposedly true, the lost may naturally trust in what he sees and hears about the most. To see a full-scale ark would be amazing and may just answer questions that have kept many in the darkness of evolution.
I give credit to Answers In Genesis for working to uphold biblical authority in a world where many believe in no absolute truth.

ME TOO! If they do it to scale, it would be fantastic. I would also like to actually see how the original was laid out! Good comment; thanks for putting this in a different perspective.

Yes the Bible does need to be "proved."
However the means by which it becomes truth to the sinner is a divine one.
Man cannot prove or disprove anything which is why we end up with the fallacy that is evolution.
"13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come" John 16.
Jim Lincoln wrote: What they are actually trying to do is to make money, the Bible doesn't need to be "proved" though are many good logical arguments that support it. Just some examples, The Historical Reliability of the Gospels and The Resource for Answering the Critics of Noah's Ark, just to name a few. Building what some people think Noah's Ark is just another "religious" theme park.
Jim, I agree with you. The bible is the word of God and does not subject itself to any human endeavor or opinion. I'm sure this is more complicated than I am making it, but if we look to something secular to prove scripture, what do we do when that same source disproves scripture. Anyway, good comment!
