Mark of the Beast? Electronic skin tattoo has medical, gaming, spy uses
A hair-thin electronic patch that adheres to the skin like a temporary tattoo could transform medical sensing, computer gaming and even spy operations, according to a US study published Thursday.
The micro-electronics technology, called an epidermal electronic system (EES), was developed by an international team of researchers from the United States, China and Singapore, and is described in the journal Science.
"It's a technology that blurs the distinction between electronics and biology," said co-author John Rogers, a professor in materials science and engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign....
One of a multitude of things which differentiate you and me is I am able to admit that a point I have made is simply my opinion and unprovable from scripture.
As to your point; a careful read of Daniel chapter 7 will yield the knowledge that the four same beasts Daniel saw in his vision are said to have risen from both the sea (Dan 7:3) and the earth (Daniel 7:17) so your sea/earth point is moot.
However, you are correct that Rev 13 speaks of both the beast and false prophet and it is the false prophet who administers the mark.
Now, a question for you, TLC. The beast is said to have had a deadly wound which had healed. When did the beast receive the deadly wound and from whom did he receive it? Is the answer in the bible, secular history or unknown as yet?
lurker wrote: "Mark of the Beast? Electronic skin tattoo has medical, gaming, spy uses..." Not likely. The "mark" has been around since Cain...And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. Gen 4:15
How Much Of A "Biblical" & "Spiritual" PERVERT Are You Anyway, "lurker" ?
The "mark" That THE LORD Set Upon Cain WAS NOT, IS NOT, AND NEVER HAS BEEN The "MARK OF THE BEAST(S)" OF REVELATION 13 !
If One Carefully Reads REVELATION 13:1-18; One Will Realize That There Are TWO (2) BEASTS:
#1.THE BEAST OF THE "SEA" v1-v10
#2.THE BEAST OF THE "EARTH" v11-18
a.The "BEAST" OF THE "SEA" (v1-v10) HAS ALWAYS BEEN REFERRED TO AS JUST "THE BEAST" &-OR "THE ANTICHRIST"
b.THE "BEAST" OF THE "EARTH" HAS ALWAYS BEEN REFERRED TO AS JUST "THE FALSE PROPHET" (ALBEIT HE'S ALSO A "BEAST" & "ANTICHRIST") !
IF ONE PROPERLY READS & INTERPRETS HOLY WRIT; ONE WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT'S THE 2nd "BEAST" (v11-v18) OF THE "EARTH"--OR "THE FALSE PROPHET"--WHO:
"CAUSETH ALL, BOTH SMALL AND GREAT, RICH AND POOR, FREE AND BOND, TO RECIEVE A MARK IN THEIR RIGHT HAND, OR IN THEIR FOREHEADS:" REV. 13:16
*IT'S THIS 2nd "BEAST", "THE FALSE PROPHET"--WHOM I BELIEVE IS THE "WHITE" OR "BLACK" POPE OF ROME--WHO FORCES THE 666 MARK ON ALL !
if you serve the one and only antcipated Anti-Christ or you just are anti Christ in your daily life, or you trust in all things anti Christ before the actual Anti-Christ comes, in the end, does it really make a difference?
Ezekiel 9:1-5 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand. And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar. And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: -Compare- Ephesians 6:12; Then contrast Rev.17:5; 14:9; 13:16 with Rev. 7:3; 9:4; 14:1;20:4; 22:4 PS Michael H: When you are puzzled, asking a direct question without a false presumption would tend more to peace with all men.
It sure sounds to me like he believes there will be a very real (not mystical or figurative) fulfillment to the Prophecies in Revelation when people literally take the Mark of the Beast. Whatever that will be when it is fulfilled we don't know now, HOWEVER we are seeing all sorts of bar codes, implantable chips and this latest an electronic skin tatoo that it will be far more real than many want to admit.
But as I said I only listened to a brief portion of his message.

It could Never be the Mark of the beast in Rev 13, cause all that is figurative. It's so figurative that no one could ever point to anything as the fulfillment of it. Same with christians dissapearing. If one day millions of born again people dissapeared, it could not be the Rapture, cause that is figurative as well. Not to mention the word Rapture is not in the Bible. Matter of fact the word Bible is not in the Bible, so I guess it doesn't exist either. One world leader; just figurative,Second comming, just figurative. And please don't take this post literaly either.
Michael Hranek wrote: So he read Revelation and came under such conviction of Christ and the coming future events when God's judgment comes upon sinners, like he was, that he cried out to God to forgive him and God mercifully saved him and shocked the people in the Bible study when he told them what had happened. God never told anyone to interpret Revelation 100% literally but He has told us repeatedly 'he who has an ear let him hear' after all Revelation is enourmously predictive of the future which God holds in His Sovereignty.
Only insofar as it is meant to be predictive; the Mark of the Beast is not a prediction of something that will literally happen. It's not bar codes. It's not an electronic skin tattoo. It's something else that holds true meaning, but it doesn't have to be a scientifically literal event. The early Christians never thought that way, why should we?
Don't make this false dichotomoy which says, "This HAS to be literal/true or non-literal/false." That's a modern rationalistic perspective. All the language in Revelation is simply telling us that something MASSIVE is going to happen--the return of Christ. To say, "There will literally be no ocean when Jesus comes back (Rev 21.1)" is missing the point.

abcdef I'm puzzled. I didn't think my posted needed or not your thumbs up.
And I am really puzzled by your post regarding "the bounds" of our habitation and how this thread relates to raising children and God's will for them.
I was simply stating how this Japanese student's testimony of coming to salvation had indeed a wonderful fruit bearing continuence to what God has begun to do in his life.
Now if there is something you need regarding to God's foretelling prophecy I will seek by His grace to help you, and hopefully any other genuinely saved, born again, committed believers who might read your posts as well.
Again I am puzzled here, I certainly hope you are not opposed to a Japenese man marrying an American woman, as if that would be somekind of sin.
Feel free to email me if you want to communicate things the length permitted in these posts doesn't give you.
