Rioting in North London
The incident began after a protest over the fatal shooting by police of 29-year-old Mark Duggan on Thursday.

About 300 people gathered outside the police station on the High Road after demonstrators demanded "justice".

Two patrol cars were set alight at about 20:20 BST but officers were not inside at the time.

Shops in the area have also been looted with people seen pushing away shopping trolleys full of goods. ...

An excellent comment (though I'll let the folks on the other side of the pond really decide that) on what happened in London, Liberty will suffer if the police can't keep the peace.

Proverbs 30:11-17 "There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough: The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough. The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it."

a) Eh?? What a stupid idea! Where on earth do you get this conclusion from?

b) You do know what the word 'sovereignty' means don't you?

c) Are you saying that economics is crime?

d) There is more of a moral issue than financial restraints in the youth of Britain today. These riots are evil, comprising of theft and disrespect of others and societies authorities. This same disrespect for authority is rife within the national church CofE/CofS and the nations adults, parents and politicians to name but a few. The society is lawless from the church down.

Thus what can we really expect from the youth??

1 Peter 5:5-11 "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

well good on Job......

bank robbery--we are going to blame all the sin of the world on God because He blessed Job with sheep and camels?

There is a fine line between God's sovereignty and man's responsibility.

God has never instituted the end of the justice system. Even He appointed Judges for Israel.

There is a need for a justice system, because people commit crimes. They are judged for those crimes for the protection of society. Without this basis all chaos will rule.

Please, this is so basic here.

I was listening to a brief interview by the ex-mayor of London on the BBC, last night, he felt that economic restraints on the younger generation are definitely causing harm and frustration.

Well, yes, Job was quite frustrated and sorrowful when he lost his riches and family, and rightly so. And He was restored by God.

Check the Book of Job.

Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
12 So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

I dont keep company with other Christians, so I see the world around me totally without hope. Is it any wonder they act like this?

Would we expect anything more?

Crosskeys, is economics any more or less under God's providence than any other sinful system you listed?

Economics is not like the sun. The sun was put into place in the sky. The heat that comes from it we cannot control. Economics is not a natural phenomenon. YOu give too much credence to the system as absolute.
And yes, God is sovereign, and he will turn things around. But sin is still sin.

I neglect to see how economics could be put into a separate category from man's selfishness and power mongering, the loss of law and order and moral decline that you so eloquently speak of.

What we are seeing is a rise of lawnessness in all areas, including economics, which results in poverty/hopelessness. Of course, many were told that tribulation would not come to them because they were of a superior culture--they are now experiencing this hardship as has millions of believers around the world. May they be comforted. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ.

Doesn't "economics" come under God's providence anyway?

Thus God is refusing to bless the western nations due to their rejection of Bible, church and ultimately God Himself.

Because of the disease of Liberalism the seed of anarchy is working through the community of Britain today. 'Law and order' becomes 'Lawlessness and moral decline.'

The sad thing about this is that not only is legislation, justice, education and the mind set of the people affected by this satanic disease - But the churches are too.

The United Kingdom of Sodom and Gomorrah is well established in this country.
May God have mercy on their souls!

Genesis 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
