Dead Sea Scrolls Ready For Adoption at $2,000 Per Page

The Friends of Israel Antiquities Authority announced Monday that it is giving people the chance to adopt pages of the Dead Sea Scrolls for about $2,000.

The announcement promotes the Friends of Israel Antiquities Authorityâ€™s efforts to raise funds for the conservation of the ancient texts, and for the project to digitalize them.

Adoptees will receive a dedication plaque with their name on it displayed wherever the texts are exhibited.

The main problem for a Christian is not all of the Dead Sea Scrolls deal with the Bible. While all of them may of be historical interest, some of them would be considered of no more sacredness than The Apocrypha is.

As a Christian I wouldn't want my name to be tied to one those scrolls.

How about that! It's cheaper to adopt the Dead Sea Scrolls than it is to adopt a baby!
