There is a relationship between this story and the story about gay marriage and gay sex becoming more acceptable. Warren seemed to indicate he removed the tweet because it was perceived to be mean. (I don't think it was but that doesn't matter.)
If making a statement about 50% of Americans not paying federal taxes is mean, what would statements like, "homosexuality is abomination to God and mankind" be? Certainly they would be mean as well.
Sometimes preachers must be the prophets of society that say mean things according to the Word of God.
Politically correct preachers who only speak that which is perceived to be kind and loving are giving up the mantel of influence on the morals of society. Where are the Billy Sundays who impact cities with the gospel? I can't see Sunday removing a tweet.
Eventually this will lead to the judgment of God. In fact, perhaps we are already there. Is there a connection between the economic near-depression we are living in and the Obama's administration agenda to promote LGBT as an acceptable lifestyle without regard to the Word of God.
If preachers can be silenced because someone thinks what was said was mean there is no hope for revival. Look at John the Baptist's earliest sermons and you will see mean statements. We must repent.
