Westboro church to picket Betty Ford funeral services
The fundamentalist and anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church has announced plans to picket funeral services in California and Michigan for former first lady Betty Ford, who died Friday at age 93.
The Grand Rapids Press reports that the small congregation, consisting mostly of family members of founder Fred Phelps, announced on its website that it will demonstrate because Ford divorced her first husband, then married the future president, Gerald Ford.

Contrary to Westboro's signs, God doesn't "hate" Homosexuals -- He eternally punishes all unrepentant sinners.
Although these folks are probably sincere and may speak some biblical truth, there are better venues and ways to communicate it. Further, if they think themselves prophets, I've seen no evidence of repentance as were those in the OT.
Perhaps we can show Westboro the love of Christ that they, themselves, can't seem to articulate.
These guys are not fundamentalists, they're hyper extreme legalistic heretical Calvinists. I do not hate calviniam but we can all tell when the doctrine is taken wrong. And this is one of such cases.
This is just "has announced plans" which isn't really news since they announce they'll picket any and every event in the headlines. If they actually show up, that's news. They rarely show up at their announced pickets any longer.
