The arrests happened on Feb. 2, 2011, when the assistant pastor from Calvary Chapel of Hemet and two church elders went to the public property. Mackey then started reading the Bible aloud.
He was arrested less than 30 minutes later, and the two others were arrested a short time after that, even though they had not actually been reading the Bible aloud.
The men believed they had a First Amendment right to free speech and they were standing in a planter in the parking lot and were on public property.
A member of the California Highway Patrol approached Mackey, grabbed his Bible and arrested him. Then Coronado and Flores asked the officer, "What law was he breaking?"...
the man preaching wasn't doing anything wrong. He wasn't preventing anyone from doing their job at the DMV nor was he keeping customers from doing business with the DMV. that was a false arrest. did the police officer give the man back his bible, if not then the police officer is guilty of committing theft.

Some of you gentlemen may want to try the Sword program, from it works on a variety of operating systems and computer types. I have one that not only works on Windows 98 but all through Windows 7, 64 bit. Yes, it has the AV on it, and at least some added bonuses such as the James Strong's concordance which can be brought up and is integrated right into the text. It has some up-to-date bibles as well, such as the NET and ESV.
If you have a dual-core CPU that runs around 2.8 GHz or so, Windows 7 download the VPC2007 64 bit for it, and install Windows 98 into a virtual machine and you can run many of your older programs as well.

There is obviously a need for discernment with these online Bibles, or you could end up with a "pick and mix" theology. To read Spurgeon one day and Scofield the next, well that's asking for spiritual trouble.

If you follow some of the external links provided on theword site, you can find many other books, commentaries, dictionaries, maps, devotionals, verse lists, mp3 headers to link your audio Bible with. The Audio Bible support isn't quite as awesome as SwordSearcher, but you can put theword on a USB thumb drive and take it with you and keep your notes and books and everything in one mobile place. And you can literally let it automatically look up Strongs (you have to find it and download it) and the KJV Dictionary as you hover your mouse on words. theword comes with the Mickelson "enhanced" Strongs. Mickelson uses a Byzantine text (I can't remember for sure either Beza or Stephanus... check plowsharemission.com), he is anti-KJV.

No, they were not using the AV, they were using the New King James Version. If you had listened to the tape, you would have heard the word, "manifest" in it. This is what is used in the NKJV.
While I don't defend their preaching to a captive audience, not Christian, or their use of a verse which no doubt many Jews find offensive, unless explained in detail, I do compliment them on using understandable English, which is one of the best points of for example, using The Roman Road approach.

Dopey, is your real name really David, and would you not prefer to be called David? It is a very biblical name like John. Some non-Christians call me Bible John or John the (1689) Baptist. When I was a very young zealous Christian, one of my workmates called me Billy Graham because I was always preaching the gospel.
Thanks for all the info about The Word. I may try to download it and try it out. I am always blessed by MH, and reckon he was a gift to the larger church. His full commentary is much better than the concise. I have been using e-sword for many years, and I think mine is the concise commentary. Who else does The Word have for free download?

What I thought was that I confused these people and there might have been a better way. The other thing that happened was there was a little boy and he was very defiant to his mother. He was demanding money and shaking a candy machine. I tried to start a conversation with him but it was going no where, so I sharply rebuked him for disobeying his mother who knew better than he did that one more piece of candy would make him wilder then he already was. I went out in my car to read. I came back inside and he said; Not you again and I said: Yes, I came to make sure you were obeying your mother. His countenance changed and he started to tell me about his family. I asked him to help me fold a flat sheet and he looked frightened and sat the rest of the time with his mother like an obedient child. I drove home talking to the Lord trying to figure it all out.
