German publisher turns New Testament into magazine
A German publisher says a new magazine featuring the unaltered text of the Bible's New Testament with pictures and what it says is a better layout is hitting the shelves in time for the Easter holidays.

Andreas Volleritsch said Wednesday 30,000 copies of the magazine are now available at newspaper stands, train stations and airports in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

As a Baptist pastor of the late 19th century pointed out,
William Bell Riley wrote:
Is the King James version absolutely inerrant? On this point we are inclined to think that, even unto comparatively recent years, such a theory has been entertained. The result, of course, is to make a sort of fetish of the book. That is why, in many a family, it is kept on the center-table and seldom used. They do not want to soil its sacredness….
from, Errors in the King James Version?.
Webster's 1913 Dictionary wrote:
{ Fetich /Fe´tich/, Fetish /Fe´tish/ (?), n. }[F. fétiche, from Pg. feitiço, adj., n., sorcery, charm, fr. L. facticius made by art, artifical, factitious. See Factitious.] 1. A material object supposed among certain African tribes to represent in such a way, or to be so connected with, a supernatural being, that the possession of it gives to the possessor power to control that being.
2. Any object to which one is excessively devoted.

Imagine the outrage if the "Holy" Koran were likewise published.

Why should the Holy Bible suffer the indignity of newsprint?

Doesn't our God deserve better?

Jim;
We can see that there is no problem in putting the NASB into magazine form - But not the 'real' Bible.

Thats the KING JAMES BIBLE.

Deep respect for God's Holy Word is a reason for making it's presentation one of honour, dignity and yes reverance too.

Not a bad thought!

Putting the Bible in a magazine format is saying something about the Bible itself.
Consider the magazines which you see on the shelves of shops and stores. What kind of attitude do you have towards them?

Why change God's Holy Word, Law, Precept, command and doctrines into a magazine format? I see the reason behind this as being some peoples attitude to God as well as His Holy Writ. This is a modern decline of honour and respect which corresponds to the Liberal attitudes on Scripture itself. As a magazine it would carry less respect than the book does, which suits Satan's cause.

Jude v8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Does anyone even know what the Bible is anymore?

Many Evangelical homes have a dozen Bibles that remain untouched for months.

New translations seem to appear weekly.

We have instant access to 100s of translations on-line.

And now a Bible mag?

"Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ" (CCC 133).

At least the RCC believes what we used to do.
