Time Mag Editor: Koran is 'Directly the Word of God,' Bible Just a Book 'Written by Man'
In another example of a sort-of cultural suicide where western media types assume that all Muslims are blameless â while all Americans are at fault in this clash of civilizations between Islamism and the West â we have a recent episode of MSNBCâs Hardball with one-time Democratic operative Chuck Todd standing-in for host Chris Matthews.
Todd was discussing the riots in Afghanistan sparked by Islamist ire over the burning of a Koran by a Florida pastor. During the interview Todd and a guest stated that the Christian Bible was just a book written by men while the Koran was the âdirect word of God.â The two implied that this excuses Muslims from murdering people over the book burning....
San Jose John, I appreciate your comments, even the few that I may disagree with, but may I suggest that you look at this article? The Incompleteness and Incoherence of the Qur'an. The Qur'an is infamous for it's lack of unity.
Gods Word will remain, no matter how many Muslims are in this world are anyone else for that matter. As the Lord has said, "Do not let your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me".
Mike wrote: "â we have a recent episode of MSNBCâs Hardball with one-time Democratic operative Chuck Todd standing-in for host Chris Matthews." Or a Democrat, Jim. Especially one standing in for a guy who said he felt a thrill go up his leg when he heard an Obama speech.
It's called denial.
Not unlike the feelings a mother tends to have for her juvenial delinquent child--or some Christians have for the liberal-side of politics.
I have a friend who's a born-again, pro-life, gun-nut; but who continues to vote liberal secular Democrat because he's "sensitive" (for lack of a better word) to their general message.
It's often very frustrating trying to reason with him.
Jim Lincoln wrote: This was an April Fools' joke, right? It would take a fool to say this!
Suprising that you would say such a thing. You're not too far off from what this fella said. You don't believe we have God's word either; you think it was just the work of men.
Of course burning it isn't the answer, When Irresponsibility Meets Irrationality even when nutty statements like in the article are made might give one second thoughts about it.
Which is more remarkable? A book with theological unity written by one man over a period of several years or a book with at least as much theological unity written by 40 different men at different times over a period of 2000 years?
Then again, if I'm already biased against the Bible AND I don't want to be killed by non-placatable fanatics I might be tempted to say that the former is superior. Depends on how much I love my life vs. how much I love the truth.
"Why itâs because the Koran is âdirectly the word of God.â On the other hand, the Bible is just a book âwritten by men.â"
If you go to a Liberal church such as ELCA or Episcopalian - That in effect is what THEY teach!!
This is why Liberal churches can remove the sodomite verses and teach that God does not say that the sodomites are an abomination.
There are two religions in the western churches [1] "Christian" religion which knows that God wrote the entire Bible. [2] "Liberal" religion which deletes the verses that prevent them from continuing with their lusts and sinful ways which come from culture. eg Women in the pulpit etc etc.
Liberalism is religious anarchy from God's authority as taught in Scripture. Satan's old trick question, "Did God really say that?" The Liberals answer "Nuh! We can say man wrote that bit and ditch the Bible at this point."
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections:
The koran is not the word of God. It is a pagan book full of twisted Bible storys that was designed to gain political power by the false prophet Muhammad (hell fire is upon him).
Which of the following Holy Book's religion: (a.) Does not claim every word was dictated from God and recorded by its prophet(s) and (b.) Has divisions which even contest its table of contents to this day?
In short, which Holy Book is least mystical but whose most ardent adherents consider to be inerrant and infallible despite disputes over the number of internal books [e.g., 1611 AV = 76 books vs. 2011 KJB = 66 books]?:
(1.) Book of Mormon
(2.) Koran
(3.) Bible
