Franklin Graham: Japan Quake and Tsunami Could Be Signs of Second Coming
The cataclysmic earthquake and tsunami in Japan have all the trappings of Armageddon, but there’s no way to know whether the end times are upon us, evangelist Franklin Graham tells Newsmax. His advice in the wake of the tragedy: Help your fellow man as much as you can, and always be prepared to meet your maker.
“What are the signs of [Christ’s] second coming? War and famine and earthquakes … escalating like labor pains,” says Graham, founder of The Samaritan’s Purse charity. “Maybe this is it, I don’t know. We should pray and be vigilant. The Bible teaches us Jesus is going to return someday. Many of us we believe that day is sooner rather than later.”...
There isn't going to be any rapture false prophet except on the day of His return, take that as a "literal" statement mr literalist. Now back to reading your scofield notes or repent before it is too late for you and you end up falling away due to depression DURING the great tribulation which you WILL live through if you are still living during that time. There is only one second coming false prophet, not one for gentile believers then a third coming for the jewish believers years later. Calvinists and Scofieldists are deluded.
"This Last Earthquake In [Japan] Is Only A Percursor To What's Going To Happen To The U.S.A. & The Whole World AFTER The RAPTURE Of The True Church Of GOD & Christ:
I agree with Graham that the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami could be signs of the End Times and the Second Coming. The Second Coming and the End Times are years away.
"Tell us when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many. You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nations will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birht pangs. Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved." Matthew 24:3-13
Yes, zraq, if one wants to think about end time events, and even pre-millennialists should, then list to the sermons of Gil Rugh on the subject Revelation Series -- Gil Rugh.
Mark 24 35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away. 36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.---NASB
I think its a little bit more comprehensive than one earthquake in Japan to reflect this prophecy.
"Matt 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."
"Now the prophecy primarily respects the events near at hand—the destruction of Jerusalem, the period of the Jewish church and state, the calling of the Gentiles, and the setting up of Christ's kingdom in the world; but as the prophecies of the Old Testament, which have an immediate reference to the affairs of the Jews and the revolutions of their state, under the figure of them do certainly look further, to the gospel church and the kingdom of the Messiah, and are so expounded in the New Testament, and such expressions are found in those predictions as are peculiar thereto and not applicable otherwise; so this prophecy, under the type of Jerusalem's destruction, looks as far forward as the general judgment; and, as is usual in prophecies, some passages are most applicable to the type, and others to the antitype; and toward the close, as usual, it points more particularly to the latter." (M.Henry)
