30,000 Bibles being held by Malaysian government

The Christian Federation of Malaysia â€“ which comprises the nationâ€™s largest ecumenical, Evangelical, and Roman Catholic Christian bodies â€“ announced Thursday that it is â€œgreatly disillusioned, fed-up and angered by the repeated detention of Bibles written in our national language, Bahasa Malaysiaâ€.

â€œSince March 2009, all attempts to import the Bible in Bahasa Malaysia ie the Alkitab, whether through Port Klang or the Port of Kuching, have been thwarted,â€ the umbrella organisation stated, suggesting that the detentions are linked to the widely-publicised 2009 row over the translation of â€œGodâ€ in Bibles and other Christian publications.

In Malaysia, Christian publications were not allowed to use the word â€œAllahâ€ to refer to God. The government contends the word â€œAllahâ€ is exclusively for Islam and that the use of â€œAllahâ€ in Christian publications could confuse Muslims and make Christian ideas more ...

This is taking Yahweh's name in vain by referring to him by using the pagan name, "allah" Allah of Islam, Is He Yahweh God of the Bible?.
