That amendment managed to suck up three hours of often emotional debate time Thursday night, which is a big part of the reason the health care law defunding votes got pushed into today.
Pence, of Indiana, touched off a vicious back-and-forth Thursday night in which Republicans insisted the organization is too aggressive about performing abortions and several Democrats charged that the GOP was waging a “war on women.”
This story about the Republicans in particular, but polticians in general,
Luke 18 2 saying, "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God, and did not respect man. 3 "And there was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my opponent.' 4 "And for a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, 5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, lest by continually coming she wear me out.'" 6 And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge said^; 7 now shall not God bring about justice for His elect, who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? 8 "I tell you that He will bring about justice for them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"---NASB
Too many Christians quickly forget the Tom Delay years in Congress, and think that Republicans are the "Christian" party, when it comes to politicians they are adept at being self-serving
Jim Lincoln wrote: Mike if you're referring to me. I'm an Independent so I can dislike both parties equally well.
Jim; what are you doing. This issue is not nearly as important as the Version debate. We need your help Jim. I just found our someone on this Very web site preached a sermon from the KJV. Make him stop Jim. Were counting on You! Save us for the nasb sake.
Mike if you're referring to me. I'm an Independent so I can dislike both parties equally well.
So, The Republican did something right for once, big deal, the Democrats dis something wrong again, another big deal. Of course all of it will work out the way God wants it to, in the end.
May I point out,
1 Corinthians 6 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.---NASB
--There is more than just one sin!--
I'll point it out our present financial mess can laid at the feet of the Republicans who didn't (and still don't) want oversight of the crooked businessmen, who paid them off in one way or another? (Yes, and not a few Democrats either.) You aren't going to see many politicians in heaven, Mike, no matter which party they belonged to, because they weren't on God's side.
"The time has come to respect the wishes of the majority of Americans who adamantly oppose using taxpayer dollars for abortions.”"
Couldn't say better myself, except to add the time has come to stop this murder of innocents now.
Thou shalt not kill. That includes politicians legalising this massacre.
"When the American Medical Association was formed in 1847, abortion was commonly practiced "before quickening." But through the efforts of the AMA and anti-obscenity crusaders and (ironically) feminists, abortion became illegal every where in the U.S. by 1900. Abortions went underground or out of the country.
The key reversal of this legal situation came on January 22, 1973, when the Supreme Court in Roe vs. Wade made the following rulings:
that no state may make laws regulating abortion during the first three months of pregnancy except to provide that they be done by licensed physicians....." John Piper
