Evangelicals fear for churches that refuse civil partnership ceremonies
The Government is considering lifting the current ban on same-sex civil partnership ceremonies being conducted in places of worship and religious settings.

Despite assurances from Home Secretary Theresa May that ‚Äúno religious group will be forced to host a civil partnership registration‚ÄĚ, many Christians are concerned that vicars will find themselves brought before the courts if they refuse.

Although a small number of religious groups, including the Quakers, have expressed their support for the proposals, the Evangelical Alliance said it was concern for the tens of thousands of churches that deem practising homosexual relationships to be incompatible with their beliefs and practices. ...

again the false assumption is made that "we might have to" or "it looks like its coming", an assumption that it is just in front of us but never quite gets here...............when it is already here. then those who are already in "it" are dismissed because "it" hasn't happened yet, but "almost" has. it's denial with a little bravado, like stale coffee with a swirl of cream.

even worse, those who are pleasantly in denial will call those who are in "it" conspiracy theorists, (nothing actually bad could happen, there's justice all around isn't there? although "it" may be coming in the future its not quite here, so what are these people complaining about?) thereby entering into the persecution of their own brethren.

Yes. The Federal Reserve Act was passed at the end of the year in 1913. Read "The Creature From Jekyll Island". Its a great book.

I don't understand how any partnership can be excluded now. NAMBLA might want to watch this very closely. I'm sure there's a similar advocacy group for bestiality lovers.

Is a couple married because the state says so or because they made promises before God? That is a good question. I have wondered if part of this crisis about what marriage is, has come about because we now go to the state to certify and define all things. The 501 comment is very relevent as well. The right for the church to exist and function does not come from the IRS, but by putting in the paperwork, the churches kind of became acceptable by registering. The bringing in of private bankers to regulate the monetary system, was it 1913, well it kind of turned the country into a corporation, didn't it? And then with 501, the local church became a corporation too? I don't know the legal language on all this. The industrial age of the church, of mass production will probably wane, and the small, and more dynamic fellowship will grow as it does in times of tribulation. "When it comes" is such a denial of present realities.

Step #1 is to drop the 501-c-3 tax exemption. Until churches do that en masse, they don't have a leg to stand on. I don't know how any organization can request special favors from Ceasar and then whine when he calls in the favor. Read "Hush Money" or "In Ceasar's Grip".

What's more, isn't it slightly inconsistent for an LGBT couple to want to be married in a church?

l think the issue of Church Marriage should be looked at again.. Are we supposed to be asking The Lord's blessing upon a man and a woman on a wedding day and then ask them to go get their State Recognition and Registration from a State Official - OR

Are we to present them a State Certificate right in Church. ls the Church suppose to be working for the State... Are we bound by Scripture... at all..

Let's continue this discussions. You may write directly to me. [email protected]

Thank you.

Maybe those who believe in a seven year tribulation will rethink their position after hearing of articles, such as this.

This world has persecuted true Christians for centuries and is not waiting around for any end time scenario to start.

"Christians will need a great deal of reassurance that the Government is not about to do something that will make their situation even worse"

I am afraid this will never happen.

Westminster is anti-christian - BUT pro-Liberalism.

Churches such as the Church of England/Scotland, Quakers and Methodists are equally pro-Liberalism and these are the organisations which Westminster takes its lead from.......AND certainly NOT the Bible!!!

The majority of politicians in Westminster (and MSP's) haven't got a clue what Biblical Christianity is all about. Come to think about it neither do the national churches C.of E/S. These reprobates are going to hell and actively participating in the United Kingdom of Sodom and Gomorah.

Satan is in charge of the UK.....
2Cor 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Wow! Pretty soon Christian churches may face persecution for being Christian. What a novelty! It may separate the wheat from the tares. Is that such a bad thing?
