Gordon James Klingenschmitt is a former Navy chaplain who was forced out of the service in 2007 for praying in Jesus' name. He says the Obama Pentagon wants to purge evangelical, Bible-preaching chaplains from the service by giving them an ultimatum -- "reconcile" with homosexual sin, or quit.
Pentagon leaders preparing to impose open homosexuality on the military are serving notice that discrimination against the deviant lifestyle will not be tolerated. In a recently released memorandum, Defense Secretary Robert Gates directed his policy staff to move ahead carefully, but expeditiously, to end the ban on military service for open homosexuals....
Some things: 1) You seem to confine praying in Jesus name to the chapel. Is this not the same thinking of anti-Christians? One's faith may be expressed in the "church" on Sunday morn, as long as it stays there after the services? Is there Scriptural basis for this? "Just to clarify, the below scenario would be the example where a chaplain would be prohibited from preaching to those would were not able to leave"
2) Was Klingenschmitt found guilty of compelling subordinates to attend meeting against their will? "No as referenced above, this is an example of what is prohibted. I listed my understanding of what he was carged with."
3)"they may one day be called to take a stand.." I take it you think that time is not yet? At what point then should the servants of Christ say it's time to take a stand? Consider the "Context" of the 1930's German church. " In other words, we know the liberal agenda and they don't care what conservative chaplains think. To date, no one has said verses have to be cut out of Bibles. Should chaplains e compelled to validate homosexuality in any way, then you will see stand. Otherwise Mike, would you have the hundreds of conservative evangelical, reformed, and fundamentalist chaplains reign their commissions and leave the ranks to Satan?"

Nor could I in my civilian profession. The Chaplaincy is not a church, but a mission field where you are pastor to some and chaplain to all who have need. As like all servants of Christ, they may one day be called to take a stand for Scripture and their convictions in regard to the social engineering that is taking place.

Was it really for praying in Jesus name or was it for attending political and media events in uniform such as when CH. Klingenschmitt did so across for the White House in direct disobedience to orders. Chaplains still have full liberty to reach from the Scriptures in chapel including praying in Jesus name when counseling/discipling military personel, but as an officer, they cannot compel subordinates to attend a meeting against their will. Satan has got a hold of the US Administration and is squeezing hard. The UK is just as bad and in many ways worse. Obviously the national churches in the UK, C of S and C of E, are so Liberal that Christian light cannot get in through the cracks. The sodomites and their reprobate allies are in charge of moral standards, and politicians and bureaucrats are so politically correct that they would rather vote for moral and social decline to impress the people, than serve God, even if they knew Him. As for the majority of the people their religion is apathy. The Remnant grows very small.

This was revealed before the election of 2008.

It is becoming as has been foretold. Bad stuff, but good news if we think about it.

I have an idea. Let's make it mandatory at certain Bible Colleges for graduates to spend time as chaplains in the armed forces. Sort of guerilla warfare. Get in, do as much evangelism in the glorious name of Jesus Christ as you possibly can before getting fired, then leave and pass it on to the next man. Getting fired from a chaplaincy will become a rite of passage, and a badge of honor for all who wish to establish their reputation as true disciples of the Lord.
The chaplaincy has never been friendly to conservative chaplains. No compromise! You won't last long as a chaplain but it us the only way to make a difference!
