Study: America loves TV more than 3 years ago
It's time to finally lay the myth of cord-cutting to rest; Americans are not only still in love with television, they're actually watching more of it than they were three years ago, according to Deloitte's fifth annual "State of the Media Democracy" report.

Asked to rank their three favorite types of media, television scored highest with 71% of respondents, followed by the internet and music (Books and movies followed). According to Deloitte's Jim McDonnell, it's a sign that America has fallen even more in love with television: "[Consumers] have actually changed their behavior and are coming back to television in a big way... They're enjoying TV more than they were three years ago, and they're watching it more." ...

Same in this country. You cannot get an evangelical minister to move from his television, even preaching on it from the pulpit, in defense of wickedness. The Bibe, what is that. Oh! something that I am supposed to speak from on a Sunday, very much like the clerics of the Church of England. Gone are the days when ministers were Puritan, abandoned the world in favour of the Bible, prayer and meditation of it. Matthew Henry did his commentary because he found he had a little spare time on his hands. Now there is a man of God. Protestantissues2.com

More people are unemployed so they have more time to watch TV. They have become hooked and love TV much more than they did before when they were stuck working all the time. The problem is that once the unemployment check dries up and they can no longer afford a cable bill...or possibly electricity or a place to stay, that their love for TV will be based on what is available at the homeless shelter and/or prison.

Bad until you add Al-Jazeera as a subchannel.
It's good but a bit David frosty.

Programs getting better?
People got more time on their hands?
People becoming duller and tv making more impression on the modern intellect?
or
TV is more intellectually stimulating, realistic, truthful and morally correct?
