Hutterville Colony's corporation was dissolved today by a judge, and the assets will be sold and distributed to members of the Hutterite colony.
The colony near Stratford, though, could still reconcile and keep living communally if the two sides can work through their disagreements.
While Hutterville members still live together on colony property, there has been a division for the past couple of years about which branch of the Hutterite religion the colony should follow. Simply put, the colony has been divided into two groups ‚ÄĒ supporters of Johnny Wipf and backers of George Waldner Sr. Both groups claim to the colony's proper leaders.
Wipf claimed to be the rightfully elected head of the colony. Waldner and his backers disputed that because, they claimed, Wipf and his supporters had been excommunicated. ...
