Ecumenical Movement Fading?
While church leaders from across denominations discuss new directions for the 100-year-old ecumenical movement, one conservative Christian believes major changes need to be made in order for there to even be a future.

"Sadly, over the last 50 years, it (the ecumenical movement) has faded into the sidelines and is now largely ignored," said Mark Tooley, president of the Institute on Religion and Democracy, which monitors mainline denominations and ecumenical groups.

Some 400 people from various mainline Protestant churches and Catholic and Orthodox traditions opened a celebratory gathering on Tuesday in New Orleans, marking 100 years of the ecumenical or Christian unity movement.

Throughout the three-day gathering, led by the National Council of Churches, participants are discussing diversity, interfaith relations, and ecumenical cooperation for the next century, among other things. ...

What planet is he living on?

The wretched ecumenical movement has almost achieved its aim of apostatising all the churches, removing the gospel in those churches, suppressing any belief in hell, sovereign grace, an inerrant Bible, and a real devil, as well as strongly discouraging open-air preaching, and encouraging the government to pass laws which strengthen inter-faith societies and weaken true Bible-believing churches. Man the list is endless.

I wonder how long sermonaudio.com will be able to legally publish good sermons from both Reformed and Fundamentalist sources.

p.s. Anyone listened to Lester Roloff recently?

"Sadly, over the last 50 years, it (the ecumenical movement) has faded into the sidelines and is now largely ignored,""

What???

But I thought the New World Order was going to bring in a "United Religion"???

""Some 400 people from various mainline Protestant churches and Catholic and Orthodox traditions opened a celebratory gathering on Tuesday in New Orleans, marking 100 years of the ecumenical or Christian unity movement.""

I wonder if they celebrated the burning at the stake of Christians and the work of the Inquisition?

Definition of Ecumenism = Compromise arranged by Liberals and unScriptural religions to further distance themselves from Bible believing Christians.

Thus "ecumenical Christian" is oxymoron!

While these Christians in name only are working at Reversing the Reformation, they shouldn't need to worry about that, they'll succeed during the Tribulation.
