First Debate on Canadaâ€™s Coercive Abortion Bill Set for Monday

Roxanneâ€™s Law,â€ the Canadian private members bill that seeks to criminalize the coercion of pregnant women into obtaining abortions, is slated for its first hour of debate this Monday, November 1st.

The bill, proposed by Conservative Member of Parliament Rod Bruinooge (Winnipeg South), is inspired by the case of Roxanne Fernando, a Manitoba woman whose boyfriend attempted to coerce her to have an abortion after she became pregnant in 2007. After refusing to have the unborn child killed, Roxanne was beaten and left to die in a snow bank. ...

Harper is great at sabre rattling about funding abortions abroad but totally SPINELESS about abortion at home. Real Christians show backbone for Christ and don't put their personal political hide first. Pray for him.

Yes I am a Canadian and I went to doctor after doctor when I was 15 years old, till I found one that didn't try to convince me to have an abortion. Even a social worker got in on the bullying. I know many women who have had family, boyfriends, husbands: Who have either "successfully" or "unsuccessfully" spent time coercing them to have an abortion.

I am deeply disappointed that our Prime Minister Stephen Harper, does not plan to stand behind this bill. Bullying pregnant women into having an abortion is low and should be illegal.

I am now in my late 30's and an empty nester! Praise The Lord, God gave me the strength to disregard those misguided people!

Any way you say it, - If you stop a life by depriving it of life, anywhere from conception to natural death, - then it is murder!

Abortion by deliberate human intervention is murder. Legalising it, is state murder!
