After TIME Magazine published a controversial photo of an Afghan woman, a pro-life group is raising questions about the publication's policy against printing pictures of aborted babies.
The cover of an August issue of TIME features a photo of an 18-year-old Afghan woman whose nose and ears were cut off by the Taliban as punishment for leaving her husband's home, where she suffered abuse from her in-laws. Following complaints about the photograph, Managing Editor Richard Stengle wrote an editorial in its defense.
"If you were to substitute everything he said regarding the reason why they needed to print that photograph, and you applied it to the pro-life cause, they -- TIME Magazine and the general mainstream media -- should be showing pictures of the victims of abortion, which, of course, they continue to refuse to do," notes Monica Miller, director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society....
