Do you take this man to be your unlawfully-wed roommate? To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, till unemployment do us part?
According to new U.S. Census data, this "I do" is the new fad. The AP reports that over the past year, the number of opposite-sex couples in that living situation rose to 7.5 million.

Very good point.
Though I tend to agree with conservatives who say radical Muslims will hate us regardless of what we do, short of converting to their faith; liberals do have a point, whether they realize it or not, that the more EVIL we in the West become, the more conspicuous we become in the eyes of the radical muslims as worldly and corrupt targets of their terror.
America has what, a 50% divorce rate and a shack up rate that is up 13% since 1970.....yet 70% of these common law marriages end up in divorce...take the above info and couple it with America having the highest church attendance in the world. Hmm?

"...so it's more likely practical considerations that are behind the increase in cohabitation,..."
"practical" usually means MONEY.
My dad lives in a rest home for retired military people, many of whom invested heavilly in so-called "survival benefits" programs, in which the wife is compensated by the government when her husband dies.
Problem with this is that when the wife remarries, she loses the income received from the passing of her previous spouse.
This creates an enormous temptation for her to simply co-habitate with any future man she meets and falls in love with.
"And yes gents, it's all your fault. The study also showed that the unemployed member of the unmarried pair was often male."
With morals on the decrease we are not surprised. With church in decline we are even less surprised. But it does demonstrate that Christian Biblical ethics makes a huge difference to the nation. As for the female out to work whilst the male remains at home - Satan always did like turning things on their head.
