Evangelical Scholar Troubled by Theological Ambiguity at Beck Rally
In the days following Glenn Beck's highly publicized rally in Washington, D.C., conservative Christians have come out expressing their concern not over the increasingly popular broadcaster, but over the apparent confusion among Christ followers.

"There is something very strange going on here. I don't understand the disconnect on the part of Christians," said Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.

Mohler, one of the nation’s pre-eminent evangelical theologians, found that Beck's rally cries were resonating with many Christians.

"What concerned me about that event on the mall was not so much Glenn Beck and the politicians in the program; it was the picture of those religious leaders standing together," he said Tuesday on The Janet Mefferd Show. ...

DavidD1960, I think my comments speak for themselves without ambiguity,

Webster's 1913 Dictionary wrote:
Ambiguity
...The quality or state of being ambiguous; doubtfulness or uncertainty, particularly as to the signification of language, arising from its admitting of more than one meaning; an equivocal word or expression.
No shadow of ambiguity can rest upon the course to be pursued.
I. Taylor.
The words are of single signification, without any ambiguity.
South.
I believe my statement was not abstruse? I can't say for certain, but it seems that the powers that be, like Dr. Mohler, and I know I like some of his comments--if not all of his actions such as signing the Manhattan statement. Oh, no ambiguity in this, Roman Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses

Beck is a bit too sanguine for me but I appreciate what he's doing and trying to do for our culture as a whole.

No! It was heretics which were excecuted by the justice and punishment of the day in 16th century Europe and UK.

Whereas the Reformers were GOD's true servants and brought the Protestant Church into being and brought the church back to truth and Scripture, Holy law and doctrine. These are facts the Elect are aware of.

Check your sources a little closer. You will find that the reformers themselves did not do the killing, but rather the political powers. Yes the reformers were consenting to the deaths, and they will be held accountable. But all governments, catholic or protestant held heresy as a capital offence. In their historical context treason and heresy were synonymous. Thankfully the deaths of the anabaptist were not in vain. Protestantism has a totaly different context today because of that.

In Reading The Article On "The Christian Post" I Couldn't Help But Notice How This " 'Evangelical' Scholar" Noted How Politicians "Use Us".

It Reminded Me Of How The "Skull-&-Bones" Presidents BUSH 1 & BUSH 2 Satanically & Deceptively "Used" BOB JONES UNIVERSITY, DR. BOB JONES JR. & DR. BOB JONES III.

BJ-III Should've Gotten A "Clue" When He Got That Personal Visit From That "Gorgonic Devil/Demon-Spirit" (Baphomet?) Back When He Was President Of BJU In The 80s & 90s !

According To BJ-III, While Speaking In Closed-Door Meetings With Ministerial "Majors", He Said That The "Gorgonic Devil" Told Him That BJU Was Going To Be "Destroyed" Very Soon.

BJ-III Probably Not Realizing That He Himself "Started That Ball Rolling" In BJU's Political, If Not "Religious", APOSTASY By Endorsing Skull-&-Boners BUSH 1 & 2 In The U.S. Presidential Elections Of 1988 & 2000 !

BJU Has Yet To Recover From Her "TEXTUAL-CRITICAL" APOSTASY; Since She Has Forsaken Her BYZANTINE-Based "King James" Bible Of The 1920s-1980s For Her ALEXANDRIAN-Based New-American-Standard-"Bible" "NASB" Per-Version !

In The Late-'80s/Early-'90s, I Had Personal Sit-Down Meetings With BJU's "Liason" For "Religious/Biblical-Fundamentalism" Affairs With The GEORGE BUSH 1 ADMINISTRATION:

DR. WAYNE VAN GELDEREN SR.

Which Casey, David? I know Gil Rugh never signed any such Manhattan Declaration. Shame on Albert Mohler if he did! Huh, looking around the 'net I see he did, Why I Signed "The Manhattan Declaration", directly out of the horse's mouth. Anyway, may pastor wouldn't because he would no doubt consider it Reversing the Reformation. (Well as best as I can say as any member of IHCC but not AS a board or staff member of IHCC.)
I think more is lost than gained in such ecumenical ventures. Protestant leaders can support freedom of religion principles as individuals and have just as great an impact.

JIM, HELLO, do you even know what the manhattan declaration is or what it says? It's ALL ABOUT ecumenicalism. It also includes Catholics, who,as I recall are considered antichrist by the old reformers. Though not so much, anymore. Seems there is no joy in mudville, nebraska your "MIGHTY CASEY" has struck out!

Thank you Frank for clearing up my eternal destination for me.Now I don't have to wonder anymore. Amazing how you don't know me but can tell me what I believe in. Let's be straight about this,Glenn Beck could be the chief of sinners, but I think God used him to reach a lot of people with a message that he wanted to get out. That sounds like someone else I read about, who was knocked off his "high horse". I don't know if Glenn believes in the doctrines of the Mormon church,I only know what he tried to accomplish last week. Please let's stop judging the messenger, and take time to listen to what he was trying to say.
Sorry David, I try to be very exact when I write things? I said "if" you were a pluralist. I stand by that. I didn't say you were lost or that you were a pluralist.

I notice you didn't answer the other questions. If Glenn is sooo wrong, then why haven't these spiritual giants spoken up before now? They've had plenty of time to do what Glenn did, only "God's way".BTW,that WAS my point about Luther. Why didn't everyone just say that he was just a rogue catholic? Because they READ what he wrote! We would be wise to do the same.
