Pro-family group boycotting Home Depot

Sponsorship of "gay pride" festivals has gotten a major U.S. retailer in hot water with a prominent pro-family group -- so much so that the group is asking its supporters to boycott the retailer.

After several requests that The Home Depot remain neutral in the debate surrounding the issue of homosexuality, American Family Association has formally announced it has launched a boycott of the national retailer. According to a press release from the pro-family organization, The Home Depot has provided both financial and corporate support to "open displays of homosexual activism" on America's main streets for several years.

AFA says the company's sponsorship of and participation in numerous "gay pride" parades and festivals has included deliberate exposure of "lascivious displays of sexual conduct" to small children. In addition, according to the website BoycottTheHomeDepot.com, the home improvement ...

I can only agree with you 100%. My own sin is disquieting enough and shamefull. For me to finger point and discuss others sin in a debate, is meaningless. Course it took me a while to awake and quit giving myself permission to join the debating and bashing society, of sermonaudio.com.
Thanks for your post, I really needed to hear your constructive comment.

Yup! Describes Phoenixbrew to a tee.

Ya know, PB, there must be a merciful God for if there were not you, a professing atheist and homosexual, would have been eliminated by natural selection. Think.

You don't get that you are doing the same thing. You call the christian group bigots because they disagree with something. Yet you disagree with the christians and show a hateful attitude.
In your other posts, you accuse people of Hating, for disagreeing with something and calling things wrong. By your very words you are Hating Christians, and cultural conservatives. You are like the person who makes the statement "No one has the right to say someone is wrong". But what happens when you find someone saying someone is wrong? What do you accuse them of? You accuse them of being wrong. And you don't even see the contradiction.
But don't worry, I promise that if you keep your philosophy, you will not have to be around any of us bible biggots much longer. In other words, you will not have to spend eternity with us.

PLEA FOR THEE.

Man's religiosity.
Pure pomposity.
Way, deep down.
So, unsound.
Mankind's sin - is sweet.
Depraved heart - DECEIT!
Boastful - God should!
Holy God - how could?
Lamb of God, without spot.
Price so high, must be bought.
Unjust - every deed.
PERFECT ONE - must bleed.
Divine justice.
Yes, He must.
God, die - for your filth.
Beg and plead - God, wilt.
You'll never make it.
YOU cannot shake it.
Unless, Christ take it?
YOU shall not fake it.
The time is short.
For your deport.
By HIM - do well.
Christ - or hell.
Opened heart, understands.
Christ starts, love commands.
Once, so hateful.
Now, so grateful.
Totally changed.
Or hell arranged.
Before God, no blame.
Gospel, not ashamed.
Joyful, with every loss.
Christ-like, bearing your cross.
"If", Christ be known.
You're not your own.
Partial Christ you pick.
Is a heart still sick.
Spiritual healing.
More than just feeling.
Good News - or scare.
Are YOU there?
Be assured!
You must be cured!
"Judgment Day", coming.
To Christ, go running.
Without a care?
You will be there!!!
Disciples share.
A fool would dare.

Good for you, Randy. No, just showing them in that article (which would agree with you on your using your "choice") that many of the behaviors are counter-productive, and sometimes appear to be of the Theonomy school of thought, or lack there of.

I'm not going to boycott in order to teach them a lesson. I'm going to boycott because I still have the power over where my money goes, and I'm not going to give it to someone who dishonors God, when I can give it to someone else.
What gets me, are all the people who censure christians who do boycott. What are you trying to do, Boycott the boycotters? Who I give my money to, and who I with hold it from, is my buisness.

The John Ankerberg article didn't say you should buy at such places, but actually shouldn't, just that boycotts backfire, and usually don't work. to excerpt a paragraph from,The Christian's Most Powerful Weapon:

'BY ELABORATE CAMPAIGNS OR RALLIES? Again, good has undeniably been accomplished by such tactics as "Moral Majority" and "Washington for Jesus." But, we know that these kinds of activities have caused the forces of evil to organize and rally, too, in such movements as "People for the American Way" and the "American Atheist Society." Unfortunately, these efforts are often better organized and financed than our Christian-oriented movements are. So, this approach may actually stir up evil forces and galvanize them into action.'

What appears to be mob actions by Christians can backfire, as the author above implies, usually does.

"Home Depot has provided both financial and corporate support to "open displays of homosexual activism" on America's main streets for several years."

That's a great reason to boycott them.
Until they apologize and never do this abomination again.

I know one "speaker" on this site that doesn't believe in boycotting.
I'm not sure why, maybe he is a plant?

Boycotting does a lot of good and can change this for the better.
Hopefully Home Depot will get the message before they go out of business.

Thats why they are not much good too many christian who say they serve Christ with simplistic mind set Law and Grace. The Whole council of God. The most powerful weapon is the Gosple but if they reject it the "next best thing" wipe your feet and dont have anything to do with them .When they see this in real ACTION by Gods Grace. Then They might really see, if God grants them repentace, because there are loosing money in rejection of Him.
No keep buying there stuff god will save them,Its doesnt matter what light I display? Wiping your feet dont do anything say who? Man.

Boycotts, don't do that much good, and while the author of The Christian's Most Powerful Weapon is on the right track for many Christians the Christian's most powerful weapon is really to develop the ability to explain The Roman Road. This is not only the most powerful weapon, but the best choice
