Shannon Hayes is no prude, but when she saw the young teens at the beach acting out, one thought went through her head: "If they had a few Scriptures to help lead them, maybe they wouldn't act that way."
On that day, a seed was planted in Hayes' mind, something she couldn't shake. Beach flip-flops imprinted with Scriptures!
Hey, maybe her husband could put Scripture on the bottles of booze he sells as "a gentle nudge to stay in the word." I apologize for the cynicism, but...wow! The shallowness never ends.
Perhaps a good old fashioned rebuke would have been more appropriate than flip flops with Scripture - after all, just how much text can you fit on a flip flop? What a sad day for Christianity when we see people doing such silly things!
JonnyB wrote: Why didn't anyone think of this sooner? Just put a Bible verse in their shoe and they'll quit loving sin! Amazing!
A low view of Christ and scripture to have the word of God trodden under foot...far better to take heed of Holy Scripture in the first place and put a rock in their shoe to remind those who love sin..
"He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing." Hebrews 10:28-29
