Many years ago I was taken by some well-meaning but disjointed believers to a Don Double tent meeting near Leicester. The big attraction was a black African Bishop, whose claim to fame was that he had raised from the dead no less than nine persons.
The meeting was taken up mainly with singing CCM songs and you could feel the excitement rising. Then the Bish was given his half-hour spot, and I expected him to help some poor soul or fifty in the meeting into health, or at least improved health.
But.....he spent the entire time saying that God had instructed him to call for an offering. He strutted about the stage getting people to pledge so much money. He was after a total of about £40,000, and when they counted up the pledges, he got it.
A final song was announced but halfway through I dashed outside, hoping to intercept the Bish. I spotted him out back of the tent getting into a big limo, with Don Double getting into another one. They sped off before the singing had finished, no doubt back to the hotel to count the takings.

Lazarus was biologically dead. Dr. Rawlings spoke of clinical death. Many clinically "dead" have been revived. Two different things. Only one of them is true death. Only Christ can raise the truly dead.
