Erskine, Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church strike deal on lawsuit
A legal dispute that threatened to sever the ties that bind Erskine College to the church that founded it is on its way to a peaceful resolution, officials on both sides of the conflict said.

The Synod, or ruling body, of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church voted down a proposal to withhold the church's financial support of the college and seminary. And it approved an agreement to withdraw its appeal of an injunction issued against the church in a lawsuit filed by college trustees ousted by the Synod, if the trustees will drop the suit.

That would have the effect of undoing the removal of 14 board members who were bumped from office three months ago in a bid by the Synod to take control of the board. ...

Your quite right, I won't use the [A]nglican [V]ersion, Apparently you do need a new website to keep you in the dark that the AV is a Catholic Bible, Is the King James Version a ‘Roman Catholic Bible’?.

I like various versions of the Bible, all superior to the AV, such as the Darby, but so you really, really need an article on how to pick a version of the Bible? Try this one big one! Comparing Bible Translations.

But there are a lot of reasons not to use the AV,

Jim. Where in this article do you find Anything about Bible Versions? If it's there please show me. If not, then please stop trying to turn all these threads into Anti KJV posts. Everyone for the past few years know what you believe about this. And I doubt you have convinced anyone.

Don't forget that your Liberal friends Westcott and Hort were Anglican too. And being Liberal they would most definitely be ecumenical!

And don't forget the large contribution which Westcott and Hort, both heretics, made to your NASB!

So people who live in glass houses shouldn't chuck rocks, Jim.

Jim

You made a comment on the thread 'Engaging in Politics...' and agreed with June.

What do you say about Wayne Grudem as a co-translator of the ESV signing the Manhattan Declaration? Should we trust him?

Then also above you mention Jim Packer...yet he is Editor of the translation commitee of the ESV.

Packer rewriting his own book

The above article should make the hair of any evangelical stand on end, but alas this is the 21st century evangelical Should we trust Packer?

Is it not double standards to attack the KJV, but say nothing about these translators and men connected with a modern translation like the ESV?

Remember some are abandoning the NASB believing it to be a wooden translation for the 'better' ESV, yet where are your warnings friend

After reading the article that SermonAudio, put up, this following article is quite relevant to it. How the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy Began. I don't know anything about this organization, but the article itself appears good, they mention a book, The Battle for The Bible, which John Ankerberg mentions in passing, The Importance of Inerrancy -- Part 1.

J.I. Packer was highly mentioned--not a good thing--considering what a good Anglican he is and his support of ecumenism, Reversing the Reformation! Anyway, the description of the deterioration of seminaries and religious schools is knowledgeable.
