A legal dispute that threatened to sever the ties that bind Erskine College to the church that founded it is on its way to a peaceful resolution, officials on both sides of the conflict said.
The Synod, or ruling body, of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church voted down a proposal to withhold the church's financial support of the college and seminary. And it approved an agreement to withdraw its appeal of an injunction issued against the church in a lawsuit filed by college trustees ousted by the Synod, if the trustees will drop the suit.

Then also above you mention Jim Packer...yet he is Editor of the translation commitee of the ESV.
J.I. Packer was highly mentioned--not a good thing--considering what a good Anglican he is and his support of ecumenism, Reversing the Reformation! Anyway, the description of the deterioration of seminaries and religious schools is knowledgeable.
