4 Gulf Coast governors call for Day of Prayer on Sunday
-Four Gulf Coast governors are calling on residents to set aside Sunday as a Day of Prayer to pray for a solution to the oil spill and for citizens impacted by the disaster.

Alabama's Bob Riley, Louisiana's Bobby Jindal, Mississippi's Haley Barbour and Texas' Rick Perry all issued proclamations calling on prayer for the spill, which entered its 66th day Thursday.

What is the goal- is it prayer for forgiveness of national sins ? To cleanse us of all unrighteousness? Prayer for repentance? For the Lord to send laborers into the harvest?

Or is is going to be the prayer of a wicked Cain crying this oil spill is greater than we can bear?

All very good --I guess-- but Christians should remember what Prayer is all about!

Hebrews 13
18 Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things.
19 And I urge you all the more to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.---NASB
