Al and Tipper Gore, married 40 years, to separate
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, are separating after 40 years of marriage that included a White House run when their sunny relationship offered a counterpoint to President Bill Clinton's philandering.

According to an e-mail circulated among the couple's associates on Tuesday, the Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration."

Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider confirmed the statement came from the Gores, but declined to comment further.

The Gores were telling friends they "grew apart" after 40 years of marriage and there was no affair involved, according to two longtime close associates and family friends, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because it was a personal matter. ...

Staying on topic, something Mr. Gore apparently didn't do,

Ecclesiastes 9
9 Enjoy life with the woman whom you love all the days of your fleeting life which He has given to you under the sun; for this is your reward in life, and in your toil in which you have labored under the sun.
Malachi 2
14 "Yet you say, 'For what reason?' Because the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.
15 "But not one has done so who has a remnant of the Spirit. And what did that one do while he was seeking a godly offspring? Take heed then, to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth.
1 Corinthians 7
2 But because of immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
3 Let the husband fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband.---NASB

Matthew 19
3 And some Pharisees came to Him, testing Him, and saying, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause at all?"
4 And He answered and said, "Have you not read, that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,
5 and said, 'FOR THIS CAUSE A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, AND SHALL CLEAVE TO HIS WIFE; AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'?
6 "Consequently they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."---NASB

Oh,

Remember that it was the KJV translators themselves who stated in their original preface that the very purpose of their translation was to provide God’s Word in a readable and understandable fashion. So then how can anyone logically argue that they would object to modern translations being done today for the same purpose?

What, you think the [A]nglican [V]ersion (a Laodicean church that created a Sardis Bible!) is even a good Bible, God may only allowed a certain amount of corruption into it, The Preface to the King James Version And the King James Only position shows that even the translators of the AV expected better versions to come out.

So, what Bible in English, even an updated AV do you prefer because no decent Bible can kept in a foreign tongue such as Elizabethan English, Comparing Bible Translations:...English Style

Still supporting the unholy smokescreen of King James and the unholy Anglican Chruch? You really should be pushing The Geneva Bible Of 1560 on its 450 anniversary instead of the one that was corrupted -- The Influence of An Anglican Archbishop on the KJV, the RSV of the 17th Century.

Just looking at Matthew 19:7 can see one of the many errors and this might not even be the Indisputable, universally recognized errors in the KJV. The word "immorality" is included in Matthew 19:9 in the better Bible translations.

Matthew 19 Greek Interlinear Bible (NT)

Matthew 19:7-9 KJV They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

The word for fornication in Matthew 19:9 in the Greek is "porneia":

Definition - porneia

Simply using the word: "immorality" instead of "fornication" in this context and verse in the NASB is grossly misleading and may lead someone to divorce a spouse for improper grounds.

"Immoral" in the dictionary is not necessarily a sexual infraction:

Definition - immoral

Wow that looks like a great series on Jeremiah, I might go through all that myself, as I love to hear preaching from Canada which is all Authorised Version. Those good Canadians sure know a thing or two about what milk and meat is good for them.

Phew, is that the devil whispering in Pinnochio's ear? And is that an NASB "Bible" he's reading? He said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way. "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for *immorality*, and marries another woman commits adultery."
So previously (AV), *fornication* was the ONLY ground for divorce; but now, because of the NASB, you can divorce if your spouse is simply *immoral*.

So much for progress, Jessica.

Jessica Dawson, and interesting example, and it shows why one should use a Bible in contemporary North American English! The so-called informal meaning for "put away" is to kill!

1 Corinthians 14:9
So also you, unless you utter by the tongue speech that is clear, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air.---NASB

While this is not the thread to be doing it on, I wonder why these gentlemen at least don't point out the modern conversion to English of the [A]nglican [V]ersion they like best? It is a moot question, except discussing Bible versions.

King James Version Debate, King James Only Debate, The Facts on and King James Only Controversy for some interesting books on the subject.

By the way, Canada says "NO!" to KJV only

You are quite right to castigate and censure sermonaudio for phasing out the members surveys, within which was a most suitable survey entitled "Which Bible Version Do You Use" and which was the ideal ground for debate on the issue, which issue is crucial, for if we have not the word of God in neither Hebrew, nor Greek, nor Latin, nor especially in English, then our Christian belief structures including statements of faith, confessions, sermons on inerrancy etc. will have to be reviewed and possibly abolished, maybe along with our own profession of faith and the only solution would be to...............................

go join the religious society of friends.

...that's "Quakers" if you didn't know.

BTW Jim For your continued edification...
The KING JAMES VERSION does not use the Vaticanus.

The Holy Spirit kept the KJV pure by using the Textus Receptus.

By Catholic you mean RC, rather than the universal Bible of the true church?

Lest we forget the KJV was the catholic and true ecumenical Bible in the positive theological sense that it was 'the' evangelical Bible for some centuries blessed and owned by the HS.

What was 'the' Bible of the last Great Awakening? The NIV or your own modern version
