Students Wearing American Flag Shirts Sent Home on Cinco de Mayo
A group of California high school students were sent home for wearing American flag t-shirts on Cinco de Mayo. An administrator at Live Oak High School told one of the students that the American flag t-shirt was ‚Äúincendiary.‚ÄĚ
According to published reports, the five boys were sitting at a table when they were ordered to remove American flag bandannas and turn their flag t-shirts inside-out. When they refused, they were taken to the principal’s office.
‚ÄúThey told us basically we take it off or we can get suspended,‚ÄĚ Matthew Dariano told KCBA, the FOX affiliate in Monterey.
‚ÄúThey said we could wear it on any other day, but today is sensitive to Mexican-Americans because it‚Äôs supposed to be their holiday so we were not allowed to wear it today,‚ÄĚ said Daniel Galli, in an interview with the KTVU in San Francisco....
These Young Men Should Be Lauded--As They Were Only Following The Historic Example Of "LOS NINOS HEROES" !
LOS NINOS HEROES Or "THE HEROIC CHILDREN" Were Peasant Mexican Children, At THE BATTLE OF PUEBLA, Who Wrapped Themselves With The Flag Of THE REPUBLIC OF MEXICO & Vailently Fought To Their DEATHS--Helping DEFEAT The FRENCH & AUSTRIAN FORCES Of Maximilian's (& His Satanic-Vaticanist "Jesuit" Backed) "Empire Of Mexico" On "EL CINCO DE MAYO (THE 5th OF MAY) 1862 !
Please Don't Confuse The "NINOS HEROES" Of EL CINCO DE MAYO With The "Ninos Heroes" Of The Mexican-American War In 1847 !
LOS NINOS HEROES Of EL CINCO DE MAYO Were Peasants & Militarily Untrained--But LOYAL & FAITHFUL To The MEXICAN-REPUBLICAN FORCES Of BENITO JUAREZ: WHOM THEY ASSISTED IN OVERTHROWING THE FRENCH-AUSTRIAN OCCUPATION OF MEXICO IN THE EARLY 1860s.
HAD NOT U.S. PRESIDENT ABRAHAM LINCOLN QUIETLY GIVEN BENITO JUAREZ'S REPUBLICAN FORCES MILLIONS IN ARMAMENTS & SUPPORT--THERE WOULD BE NO "CINCO DE MAYO" CELEBRATIONS EVERY 5th OF MAY !
I can't wait until eight weeks from now when I get to go back to Obmaland. I was glad to leave it, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't pleading to come back right now. I miss my people, espescially the wife you know, way more than the country, and stories like these remind me of why I was happy to leave in the first place. This entire thing is insane. #1. like the previous post said, Mexican-Americans are now American, so why be offended by our own flag? #2. I am a white male with no latino blood in me as far as I know, and I can assure you that I still have a lot of fun on Cinco De Mayo...I was sad to miss celebrating it this year...I wouldn't enjoy it less seeing an American or Mexican flag. If it's a fun time, then have fun. #3. We don't have the right to be unoffended. People do a lot of offensive things. How wearing an American flag shirt or saying "Merry Christmas" became offensive is beyond me, but we do have freedom to say and do a lot of things in our country. I'm more offended by pants that are worn around the kids' knees than any particular T-shirt. I also wonder if they took down all the flags from the school for Cinco de Mayo or maybe they raised a Mexican flag just for that day.
‚ÄúThey said we could wear it on any other day, but today is sensitive to Mexican-Americans because it‚Äôs supposed to be their holiday so we were not allowed to wear it today,‚ÄĚ said Daniel Galli, in an interview with the KTVU in San Francisco. ..."
It's not their holiday, any more than Festa della Liberazion is an Italian-American holiday. Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday. Mexican-Americans are supposed to be Americans. If they are Americans, there is no reason for them to be offended at the American flag. If they're not, why are they here?
