Jennifer Knapp Returns to Christian Music Scene, Confirms Her Sexuality
Award-winning Christian music artist Jennifer Knapp has returned from a seven-year hiatus with a bang.

Aside from touring with provocative singer-songwriter Derek Webb and preparing for the release of a new album, Knapp is confirming what some had for years suspected – she’s gay.

In interviews with The Advocate, Reuters, and Christianity Today – all published Tuesday – Knapp spoke openly about her sexuality while making it clear that she is not a pro-gay activist or even a self-described lesbian despite being in an eight-year relationship with a woman.

“I'm just a normal human being who's dealing with normal everyday life scenarios,” Knapp told Christianity Today. ...

This is a very important discussion that the past several posts have touched on. However; it is getting off topic. The discussion is music, particularly Jennifer Knapps situation and what brought it on. Please stay on topic or they will close the topic.

Not So!
"IF" as you say the remark only refers to Revelation - Then what do YOU need to add to Scripture to make it viable truth and acceptable?
---
You have quite an imagination. I establish no such thing. Are you not the one trying to ADD John's prophetic vision into other books of the Bible? I would be careful of doing this. If God had meant it to be so, he would have used "these books" rather than "this book." He speaks of THIS prophecy. The Bible consists of books, Revelation being one of them. The Lord said "What thou seest, write in in A book and send IT. It's pretty clear he is not talking about any other Scripture when he says this. Should we go beyond what is written?

"It is confirmed by a most solemn sanction, condemning and cursing all who should dare to corrupt or change the word of God, either by adding to it or taking from it, v. 18, 19. He that adds to the word of God draws down upon himself all the plagues written in this book; and he who takes any thing away from it cuts himself off from all the promises and privileges of it. This sanction is like a flaming sword, to guard the canon of the scripture from profane hands. Such a fence as this God set about the law (Deu. 4:2), and the whole Old Testament (Mal. 4:4), and now in the most solemn manner about the whole Bible, assuring us that it is a book of the most sacred nature, divine authority, and of the last importance, and therefore the peculiar care of the great God." Deut 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Deut 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Prov 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Now Mike if you must add to God's Word - then don't forget you have been warned!!!
If it is NOT God's - then it must be Man's.
Irrelevant. God wrote the Bible but that doesn't change the fact that Rev. 22:18 is talking about the BOOK of Revelation.

Revelation 1:3
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Revelation 1:11
"Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it...."

Revelation 22:7
"Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book."

Revelation 22:10
"And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand."

PS "Bible" is plural.

He is in a nice beautiful box called Heaven, and He no longer interacts with us, because all the good music has already been written, and He cannot be glorified through anything other than 4/4 time!
There is no need to be sarcasic friend. There may be some who think close to what you are saying. But most of us that are against Rock, are not saying that it's a question between new or old. There are some great new songs written. Rather; it's a question of it being Spirit and Truth. Matter of fact; How Great Thou Art was written the same year as one of the most popular Rock songs, rock around the clock. There are still great God glorifying songs written today, but they do not try to copy the style of worldly people that hate God. Rather they attempt to copy the atmosphere of Heaven. Take it from several people who played rock and christain rock. But you won't be convinced till you honestly seek God, and become willing to give up what you like to please Him

There is NO such thing as a homosexual Christian. Please stop the lies. The bible says homosexuals dont go to heaven and such WERE some of you but then they repented and are not homosexuals anymore. It does not matter how good she sings our how much you like her music. If she thinks she is Christian she is only fooling herself the bible says. Read Matt chapter 7 it talks about many in the day of judgement .
Mt 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mt 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Lets be biblically correct and do it Gods way not our own way. Homosexuals along with all others who live in sin will not go to heaven. Tell them the truth there is time to repent and be saved for real.Jesus said Lu 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
JENNIFER needs to repent of her sin.

"Sacred Steel" and "Rossetta Tharpe" I believe had beginnings in the 1930"s using the electric guitar or "Sacred Steel", in praise to God. Tharpe's singing at times and the singing of others who played "Sacred steel", often sounded like some "rock" that was recorded decades later.
May God give us discernment in knowing His will and what music God would like to serve Him with.
Some of 50s rock did indeed use some of the sounds of Black Gospel music, and some of the instruments. But that is where the similarity ends. The Spirit and Feeel of Rock are vastly different from Sister Rosseta, and my favorite, Blind Willie Johnson. These folks did not try to take the most blatant form of evil loved by rebellious God haters, and try to use it to reach people or the praise God with. Rather, they attempted to get what they thought was music from God in order to praise Him with. Whether they always achieved that or not, at least tahe was their aim. A far cry from todays attempts to copy the world.

Wow, Rick, it's a far stretch to go from homosexuality to bashing Christian rock music. Ray Boltz doesn't even do rock music. And remember Michael English who left the Christian music scene for a while due to his problem with adultery? He did southern gospel music with the Gaithers. And mustwatch, as far as the Psalms, they give direction to use instruments of Gath. Gath was Philistine, home of Goliath and company. The point: use everything to praise the Lord. Why don't we pray for these artists whose mininstries lead them to temptations. As for sin, that is a different story...
Just remeber that when your children's generation want to glorify God through homosexuality and pornography. I was a rock musician in the 70s, and I know what people like Bill Gottard were right when they were warning young people to stay away from rock. Now, through the philosohpy that you have espoused, rock and all other forms of the world have taken over the church. At first, I tried what you are talking about, but soon saw the problems with it. Iv'e been on both sides of this issue. So, I'm not some old fundamentalist that is stuck in another era. Thanks for your time.

Lets turn this thing around a bit.
how about saying, “As a Christian, I'm doing that as best as I can,"
I just love pornography. It's not my fault I love it right?
Why is it not possible to love porno and at the same time hold on to my faith?"
Does that sound ridiculous? Well its basically the same thing with this girl.
The reason you cant hold on to your girl and the faith is that your faith says homosexual desire is a perverted sinful desire, just like a "natural desire" for pornography is a sinful desire.
Someone disciple this girl in love.
