Evangelical scholar forced out after endorsing evolution
When it comes to incriminating videos these days, the one of Bruce K. Waltke might seem pretty tame. It shows the noted evangelical scholar of the Old Testament talking about scholarship, faith and evolution. What was incriminating? He not only endorsed evolution, but said that evangelical Christianity could face a crisis for not coming to accept science.

"If the data is overwhelmingly in favor of evolution, to deny that reality will make us a cult ... some odd group that is not really interacting with the world. And rightly so, because we are not using our gifts and trusting God's Providence that brought us to this point of our awareness," he says, according to several accounts by those who have seen the video. Those words set off a furor at the Reformed Theological Seminary, where Waltke was — until this week — a professor. (The seminary is evangelical, with ties to several denominations.) ...

""He not only endorsed evolution, but said that evangelical Christianity could face a crisis for not coming to accept science.""

Yet again we observe the word "evangelical" not being accorded its proper meaning.

1828 Webster says
"EVANGEL'ICAL, a. [Low L. evangelicus, from evangelium, the gospel; Gr. well, good, to announce.]

1. According to the gospel; consonant to the doctrines and precepts of the gospel, published by Christ and his apostles; as evangelical righteousness, obedience or piety.

2. Contained in the gospel; as an evangelical doctrine.

3. Sound in the doctrines of the gospel; orthodox; as an evangelical preacher."

Mans science does not agree with Scripture the *TRUE* evangelical would know that.

Heb 11:3 "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear."

Therefore this guy does not have faith!!

What overwhelming data? It is evolutionists who deny reality, is it not?

Overwhelming evidence for evolution mister Bruce K. Waltke

I don't think so, thank you very much.

Now I know that I do not know anything of Reformed Theological Seminary and cannot speak if they are a good school or not but in removing a professor holding to false belief/teaching regarding creation I have to think that is the correct action we should take with those holding to false teachings when I think of what Jesus rebuked the Church of Pergamum for.

"...we are not using our gifts and trusting God's Providence" - Article

What about trusting God's Word? When they say "science," what do they mean? Are they talking about testable, repeatable experiments done in a lab, or presupposing the past based on the present?

If a person says that Christianity and evolution are compatable, they need to explain how there could be death before sin. If man was created on day 6 as the Bible clearly says, how can we be basically an accident that took long enough to finally work? Exod. 20:11 says God created everything in 6 days and rested the 7th. You cannot choose to believe one part of the Bible and deny another. Either it's all true, or none of it is true.

If modern scientists cannot create life in the highest technilogically advanced laboratories, in a highly-controlled environment, how do you suppose it happened all on its own by random chance?

Try answersingenesis.org. A very good website, and a ministry I praise the Lord for for allowing me to see the truth and to come to saving knowledge in Christ.
