After years in the shadows, `Mormonâ€™ name is back

After a decadelong moratorium, Mormon is back. The name, that is.

It was on display everywhere last weekend (April 3-4) as thousands gathered here for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saintsâ€™ 180th Annual General Conference in Salt Lake City.

Where LDS leaders once were pushing members to call themselves Latter-day Saints, rather than Mormons, now the church-owned Deseret News has created the Mormon Times. â€œMormon Messagesâ€ is on YouTube. The â€œMormon Channelâ€ is on the radio. And the faithâ€™s missionary Web site is mormon.org. ...

I think it is a very good idea! Other people will confuse them less with Christians, unfortunately they are still confused and think they are Christians.

Do Mormons believe the same as Christians do?--- What is it that separates Mormonism from traditional Christianity? For that matter you can ask that question about other cults as well, Roman Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses.
