Churches add extra round of entertainment to Sunday's Easter basket
A simple Easter egg hunt for the children on the front lawn after worship services isn't enough anymore.

Some churches across the region, hoping to attract more families on one of the busiest days of the year, have added an extra round of entertainment to this Sunday's Easter basket.

These enhancements range from technology-driven children's worship services to theme-oriented Sunday school rooms with video games. The churches seek to give children an experience they'll remember, one they want them to repeat. ...

Excellent comment Rick

The sort of worldliness you describe makes me

STAND FIRM BROTHER.....

and be an ally of the apostles:-

For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
1 Corinthians 4:9-13 KJV

My heart goes out to you.

I am encouraged every time I hear a brother or a sister express the desire that we be faithful in our lives to Christ to why He has saved us and what He has saved us to be and be about.

I have a feeling you are probably not all that popular among the "evangelicals" who want to go to heaven when they die but somehow aren't willing to give up the world and its charms and passing riches, pleasuers and appaulse, and to forsake it all for Christ BECAUSE HE IS WORTHY.

Hey! I have to think Jesus Christ Himself wasn't all that popular with the religious crowd who just wanted to (ab)use God for their own ends either.

May the God of all Grace empower you with the fulness of His Spirit and His word to be used by Him in seeing many sinners come to genuine repentance and true saving life changing faith in Christ to serve Him with joy for all their days upon this earth.

Take JOY Jesus Christ is risen from the dead and all the unbelief and disobedience of men will never put Him in the grave again.

When are people going to realize that the church should not be in the Entertainment business, or the Marketing buisiness. We are supposed to be in the Soul winning and disciplship buisiness. Last year, there were preachers dressing up as the easter bunny, and giving chocolate eggs to kids as they hopped down the aisle. One preacher popped a wheelee on a motorcycle as he drove up to the church dressed in a maniacal looking rabbit suite. All this in the name of outreach. The problem is; this is not Evangalism, it is worldly marketing. Churches are not trying to get people in to win them to Christ anymore (though many say that's why they are doing this)they are attempting to get people in for the same reason buisiness are trying to get people in. So we can have bodies and bucks. All of this is an Abomination. In my small church people are alarmed (which is a good thing)that we are loosing young people. But their solution is to try these things that the big budget entertainment churches are doing. Time after time, I have to tell them that we don't have the budget to compete with these churches. Even if we did, that is not what God wants us to do. People claim they want to reach people but they will not do what God has commanded; pray, and wittness.
