City forbids Bible studies in homes
With only seven members, Oasis of Truth Church was ordered to stop holding all activities, including Bible studies, leadership meetings and fellowship activities, in Pastor Joe Sutherland's home in Gilbert, Ariz.

Alliance Defense Fund attorneys contend in the appeal that was filed Wednesday that banning religious meetings of any size or frequency in a home is unprecedented and unconstitutional.

"Christian church groups shouldn’t be singled out for discrimination and banned from meeting in their own homes," said ADF Litigation Counsel Daniel Blomberg. "The interpretation and enforcement of the town’s code is clearly unconstitutional. ...

Grace, not law wrote:
Quite a vivid description from the Word of the consequences of the fall. I hope you are not also a covenanter, like Kingdom Citizen and Jack Rabbit, trapped in the false doctrine that Christians are under law.
...by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested...
So, unless you are Jewish, and living in the time before Christ died on the cross, you are not under the law, which was given that the offence might abound. But if you cannot see that God has always dealt with man in grace, and not law, then you will not understand that the time of law has passed, and you will be trapped in the Galatian heresy. May the Lord have mercy on you, if that is the case!
Hello.
Like Jesus I believe the whole counsel of God. He did not dismiss the OT so I follow Him. Isaiah 24 1-12 declare the judgments of God, and He is immutable after all, so I doubt He has changed His mind. The verses I quoted relate to the topic of this thread.

ps. Yes I am in covenant with God. Thanks be to God.

By all means, contend for the faith. It's the bible that is the finale/ultimate authority. So show me from scripture, I am open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Quoting scripture with fancy arguements wont do. Otherwise I would have been a JW by now, and a mormon by tuesday, and muslim (or worse, a RC) by friday.
I would like to follow what you are saying, but unfortunately it can't be done. You need to back up. The only thing I said, which has nothing to do with versions or conversions, is this(post 3/16/10;7:21 PM)

"Except for the 'I believe Mike from New York used Romans 13:1-2 as a proof text..'" part.(Bruce Lantto's quote)

However, I did not use the verse as a proof text about anything. I was simply pointing that out. If you like, you can see what was actually written 3/14/10; 11:11 AM.

This must be how rumors are started, and indeed how conversations degenerate, when sufficient care is not taken, and one error is piled upon another.

I have read the comments to this article about a city forbidding people to have Bible studies, and I believe Mike from New York used Romans 13:1-2 as a proof text, saying that we are to obey the powers that be. Yes we are, BUT, What about the Book of Acts in Chapter 4, the powers that be forbade the disciples from spreading th and make e faith, but Peter and John said, "Whether it be right to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye". So, my point is you can't take only one portion of scripture and make it what you want it to say but, Isaiah 28:10,13 says it is to be precept upon precept line upon line. Also my personal belief is let's get back to the old King James, there are too many so called books called the Bible, and this I believe is where all the confusion comes from,on What the Bible teaches. Also to say, all you other;other bible fans don't get upset when I say the Old King James is the only one for me. In CHRIST, Bruce Lantto

Read Hebrews; it has always been by God's grace through faith; since the saints of old like moses, abraham ect. No one has ever been able to keep the law; only the Son of God. Salvation has always been by Grace; not what the theology of dispensationalism says that the saints of old were under and required to keep the law for salvation. That is way everyone stands under the curse of the law because no one can keep it perfectly, only the most qualified God-man mediator-Jesus Christ our High Priest. If you are involved in a church that teaches dispensationalism, you need to seperate yourself from evil teaching. Dispensationalism doesn't give our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ, His proper position and place.

Yeah, I thought it would be things like the KJV Onlyism, and pre/post trib, etc... Things that Godly Christians can dissagree on. And probably will only be resolved when the Lord comes.

Here I thought you MAY have some relevant and valid points, like Gay priests, women preachers, denying the deity of Christ, Mary as our saviour, etc. I wanted to hear you out, but not this trashtalk. So I stand convinced, that pastor Gil Rugh's Indian Hills church is a doctrinally sound and Godly church. I've never been there but I thank God for them.

What is false teaching? That would be dispensationalism. Only in America would dispensationalism take place. Dispensationalism is heath, wealth, and prosperity gospel. www.againstdispensationalism.com

In a sense "the city" (those real souls who actually comprise it - "city" is fiction and can't forbid nuttin')can allow or forbid anything because the disciples of Satan control all the land with support of the masses. The majority desire to be "U.S. Citizens" and to be under the commandments of man, looking to man for rights and the defense of rights, and this case is another fine example as the first page states the "unconstitutional" cry.
Jim Lincoln is bowing to the feet of Gil at the moment, but he should be here later quoting "Romans 13" from his strange book.
Here is Romans 13:1-2

"1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves." -

Gil Rugh is an excellent pastor. One of the great advantages of the internet is that, even from the other side of the world, we have access to great expositions of Gods word. Praise God for Pastors like him.
